12: Ni-Bump-ght - Ayala and Dead Girl

Jenny realised that she had moved a fair distance down the island from her entry point as she spewed water out onto the grass. Her rescuer was divesting himself of his diving gear when she gurgled something like ‘gotte blitz’ and legged it.
She found that even though she had regurgitated what felt like half the lake Jenny was aware that her centre of balance had shifted dramatically.
Harry Rutherford took the call. There was a pause after Jenny finished speaking. Harry had not understood a single word but the caller ID said who it was. He knew she was sensitive to He had got the word ‘Help’. “Dee. Are you gargling?” He checked the location and saw she was close by, and told her he was in the staff car park.
He looked to Ayala and said ‘We will wait for another person. I think she sensed what you and I did.”
When Jenny showed up Harry was taken aback, what the hell had she been doing to herself? She was drenched through and her clothes looked like they had been dipped in liquid… He didn’t want to think what it was that was that colour. Why did she have this obsession with filth? This girl was a disgusting head case. Harry had curbed his swearing, he refused to acknowledge the childish description of potty mouth, he always swore when he heard that. But there were times when a good expletive was needed.
He counted to ten.
“Okay, Ayala and me sensed something, I am guessing you did too. And I think it’s in town. We are going for a looksee and it’s too far to walk. So I am driving us there. Yeah. I know everyone thinks my car is a heap of old crap, but it ain’t, it’s a classic, it ain’t an expensive classic but it is one. And you ain’t getting in it looking like something that fell out of King Kong’s… nose. I reckon we can wait a few minutes. Go and shower and put on something clean and dry, ‘cos you are not scuzzing up my upholstery with whatever you’ve been doing.”
It was clear Harry Rutherford was not up for an argument, he had already ditched her once, she was fairly sure he would do it again if provoked
