14: War of the Worlds - Alchemy

If Colossus takes point, with aerial cover from Dancer and Firestorm we can head for the coat. Starbolt and Dust taking the rear. Let's see how far we cab get. Everyone understand?"
There came a string of affirmatives.
This strategy worked okay for a good half hour and they began to smell the sea as they moved through the area of the port warehouses. At first they were moving through almost deserted streets but after a few miles this had grown to a seething throng of people that was impossible to move through. They were heading for the ferries.
Before they got blocked and hemmed in Tom called a halt, so that they could have a rethink.
Between the warehouse one of the war machines could be seen on the far bank of the estuary, it was no immediate danger to the people over here.
