07: Ayala - Bernice

Bernice was Switzerland when it came to meatball and cheese sandwiches, well... maybe not Switzerland, because the money men there profited out of any war. She wondered briefly if there was a country that genuinely did not give a rats ass about pointless stuff. Either way both sides in that conflict were involved in Mutually Assured Destruction through clogged arteries.
Win win, she decided, with a side order of Darwin Award.
When Ethan asked if he has said something wrong, she patted his arm and said that they would talk later.
"This young lady is Ayala," Bernice said completing the introduction that Ethan had begun moments earlier. "We have a language barrier that we are beginning to explore. Although we have speakers of many languages here Ayala's is... unique, with no common roots in any of the ones we know. She is smart but keep the language simple for now, talk normally, not like the English abroad who think that saying something loudly makes it more intelligible. And if you can appropriately show an example of the word that helps, a visual reinforcement always helps."
