07.23: Dead Girl

Whilst the apartment was a good size there was a fair bit of dead space up in the capacious loft, this was used for storage space. There was everything up here any home would need, spare bedding, curtains and carpets, all the cleaning supplies and equipment anyone would ever need. There was also a small but well equipped kitchen adjacent to each of the two sets of stairs.
“You are not the first person here to want a ceremonial bonfire,” Val said. “When I lost Charles I burned all the clothes I had on. In hindsight it achieved nothing but I remember at the time it made me feel better.”
The was a place for bonfires out in the woods, Val could have a word with Sam the estate manager to get a fire set up.
“Fires always seem more cathartic as events when done at night.”
