04.35: Dead Girl

Val was happy to see Dee smiling, so many of the kids who came here took a long time to find joy.
“Room, yes, come with me Dee. Thanks Moira. Are you heading back to Scotland any time soon?”
The medic didn’t look up from where she was clearing her work station. “Cecilia will be here at the end of next week to take over. You should have a mail about that.”
Val gave a short staccato laugh. “I have not had a chance to look in my inbox today.”
“Sent it two days ago Val.”
“Busted.”
Val gave Jenny a wave and headed to the nearest staircase. “The next floor up is the dormitory floor, girls in this wing of the house, boys in the other. There are spare rooms so I don’t think you will have trouble finding a space. There will be several sets of standard school clothing, underwear and so on. You will have a stipend if you don’t have personal finances for personal use, get clothes if you want them, personalise your room. The money is for you. We will also issue you with a cell phone.”
At the top of the stairs Val headed off to the right and found a small office through what looked like a small rec room.
“Ah Bernice, I see you have someone with you. We can wait.”
Val gestured back to the rec room. “That’s Bernice, Professor Summerfield. She oversees the day to day running of the dormitory.”
