“I cannot be certain, but I am going to go with no,” Moira said as she watched the self harm repair. “I would try and avoid doing that if I were you Dee. You might have a set reserve of regenerative ability and I don’t think you want to be wasting it. I am not saying you have limited capability in that area, but until I have a full bio-analysis of your metabolism and abilities, best to play on the safe side. And I wouldn’t do that in front of others, it’s not pleasant to see.”
She took a cotton swab and dabbed the area Jenny had damaged before popping it into a small sealable bag. She made an indecipherable note on the label. She took Jenny’s hand and examined the nails that had done the scratching. With tweezers she removed several very small bits of tissue. New tissue might be different to existing tissue. Moira indicated a sink and suggested Jenny might want to wash her hands.
“I have never met a zombie before, and I don’t think I have now. It’s a convenient label, despite them being embedded in many cultures there’s no evidence that zombies exist. All supposed instances have a rational explanation.
“Now I would like to do a full analysis of you at some point, everyone who comes here has a comprehensive medical examination. But I think that is enough for today. Thank you for coming Dee, what I learn from today will guide my examination of you when we next meet.”
