Painful Memories
Soularous could oy curl up into hinself, everything had gotten dark. He remembered Gelt's words, "Banishment has served to only fuel your selfish needs. Had not your son been injured by my hand, you would have continued to sit upon thine throne. You once proclaimed to bring unification and peace as your mission. Thus I hoped you were true. You have shown me that even gods and beings are incapable of changing." He gently closed his eyes, maybe Gelt was right, maybe he was selfish, only caring for himself. Maybe he could never change and was cursed to be this way. His mind drifted away to his deepest memories, those he treasured.

Soularous wandered through the market, in his avatar state. It was a wonderful day, the sun was shinning and there wasn't a cloud in sight of the spring day. He watched as children of all races played together in the two, while their parents and families peacefully conversed and bpught what they wish. Soularous waved a greetings to the people of the city. As he continued moving alone, he noticed a few slaves being dragged violently, it sickened him. He walked over to the trader as he slapped a young elven girl, "You dare give me lip, you little rat. Learn your place." The trader prepared to hit the girl again, Soularous stopped the man, and slammed him into the ground, knocking him out.
He turned around and freed the slaves, "Go, you don't need to thank me." They quickly escaped, Soularous got the man up and hidden from the guard in time. He continued to explore the city. He was so busy looking at the city in wonder he didn't notice a fancy carriage parked, he ran straight into it,"Ow!"
He fell backwards from him bashing into the carriage, which had beautiful black horses pulling it. The carriage was decorated with precocious gems and gold. As he got back on his feet, the door opened and smacked him back down. He fell face first into the mud, a woman's voice spoke in worry, "Oh no! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Soularous got on his feet and wiped his face, he turned around to see the woman. She was beautiful, unlike anything he seen. She had long silvery hair with black streaks that caressed her back, her eyes were that of sapphire, the most beautiful of blue. She has a beauty mark right above her lip, on the left corner. She wore a fine dress of ocean blue, with fine strands of gold. Soularous was speechless.
It took him a couple of minutes before he snapped out of his trance, "I'm alright, do not worry my lady. I should be more careful. Then again, I would have never gotten the chance to see something as beautiful as you. So I think we have no quarrels." She shook her head, "That won't do, you must be hurt." Before the demon king could do anything, she tapped his head, a blue light glowed, and soon the damage was gone. She looked at him, before looking down, worried. "I'm sorry, I know that was-" Soularous gently took her hand, "Thank you, for being so kind." Many people, such as this woman with beauty like hers would have stepped on him, and she healed him, and was worried he would be made, she cared for someone, no matter their race, and it made him happy. He realised her, "Don't apologize for being kind my lady." He straightened himself, "If you don't mind, may I have your name?" The woman looked a bit puzzled before it clicked for her, "Oh, you want to know my name? It's Emilia Sainte, what's your name, gentle sir. It's only fair if I know your name." Soularous took a bow, "You may call me Soul, wanderer, mage, and charmer." He winked at her, and she blushed a bit, "A wonderful name, Soul."
A man's voice called, "Emilia!" A nobleman came from the otherside of the carriage, "We must go or we will be late for the gathering. Oh hello sir." The man was short in size and a bit round, but he had long black hair matched with a peppery beard. Soularous bowed, "Greetings my lord. I was just apologizing to this lovely woman, I seemed to scratched her carriage while I was looking at this wonderful city. Emilia looked up at him, "What, now hold on mister! I was apologizing for hitting you with a door." Soularous chuckled, "No no, I was apologizing for being a fool, my lady." The man chuckled at the sight, "Sir, may I know your name?" Soularous gave a bow, "My name is Soul." He scratched his head in wonder, "Soul, huh? Intresting name. Sir, if you would be so kind to watch our carriage while we are gone, I would like to speak with you." Spul smiled, "It won't go anywhere." The man chuckled and took his daughter to the elegant building, Soularous could have stolen the carriage, but he kept his promise, so he could see the beauty again. The two returned after dark, surprised to see the pale teifling again. The man smiled, "Still here?" Soularous smiled back, "You told me to watch your carriage, I did so." He opened the door for Emilia, "My lady." He bowed as she entered. He closed behind her, the man looked at Soul, "So, Soul. I don't know what it is, but my daughter has taken a liking to you. Would you mind joining us for dinner?" Soularous beamed, "It would be my pleasure!"
That night, Soularous showed his more respectful self, being a charming gentleman to Emilia and her father as he spent the evening with them. They were even so kind to letbhim sleep at their house. The demon king was never so happy before. He couldn't get the beauty Emilia out of his head, and the same could be said about him being stuck in her head.
