(JP with Redsword and Cindy)
JD got up from his seat collected the trash and put it in the can nearby. "Sure Can, we have the boardwalk in that direction with the shops or we could walk the pier and look at the ocean, going the other way. I would say the beach too. But we should take off our shoes for that one. What would you like?" asked JD.
"The pier sounds good," Rose responded. They could do the beach, if they decided, after the pier or later, maybe after dinner.
Rose got up from her seat and took his hand, then they walked towards the pier.
JD was happed his smile said everything he looked proud to be walking with Rose. Almost look what I have with me. there was no dought that guys walked by checking Rose out. The same for JD girls walked buy looking. JD knew they were the couple to be reckoned with as far as he was concerned they were the best couple there and nothing would change his mind. Rose was everything to him and that would not change anytime soon. "I don't believe I will get enough of this being with you." JD paused. He thought to himself it would be easy to say he loved her was it too soon but it felt so right.
The fear of her rejecting him after saying it made his heart beat faster. He was already committed to her. This feeling was so over baring to him. The feeling of fear was too. He knew now why his dad acted around his mom. His dad must have felt weak around her. Knowing she had control of his heart he could do nothing about it. JD had seen his mom just say a word when his father was furious. His dad just would almost melt. JD felt that Rose could do the same to control him with a touch or a word. JD let go of her hand and put his arm around her waist. He realized he had not said much since they started walking JD was worried that she would think something was wrong. He stopped and kissed her. "I.." he smiled "I love this time with you. Just you and I don't get me wrong I like our friends but being alone with you means a lot to me." JD said softly.
Rose was happy to be spending some alone time with JD. To say she didn't noticed the guys and girls checking them out would have been incorrect. I was more she barely noticed as she was more focused on JD. Rose hadn't ever felt this way about anyone before JD. People had a lot of assumptions about her that were wrong. Then she must have dated a lot or had a lot of guys who waited on her or treated her like a princess was highly inaccurate. She wasn't like that.
The feelings she had for JD, were amazing. The two of them connected in a way she hadn't known before. She was very sure of what was in her heart. Even if she had never experienced it before. Rose returned the kiss, "I love this as well. This time alone with you is my favorite part of the day." Smiling at him. "But do have good friends....who would be the first to let us spend time alone." As friends, they spent a lot of time together but they understand when couples wanted alone time.
"I cherish every moment with you," he said. JD started to walk closer to the railing they could see the water below them as they walk. the smell of the ocean the sun shining down on them the slight breeze blowing Rose's hair some. She was so perfect in every way. "I know you don't like to talk about it. but could you tell me more about your home? What did you like to do there? or did you have any funny servants? he asked JD he want to know more about her and where she was from. He smiled thinking she might actually live in a castle. how crazy would that be?
"Well, as a child I had a large playroom with a lot of toys. I'd spend a lot of time drawing or painting, even then. I liked walking the grounds or going to see the horses. My nanny would take me to the private beach behind our house." She responded. "I would spend time with my brother but I was 3 when he went to boarding school. I was mostly taught by my nanny. I had a tutor in Italian. I did art for a short time with other kids but eventually switched to private lessons. I did have gymnastics with other kids and the nannies in the area would get the kids together once a week for a playdate. I was kept pretty busy." As for the servants, "Some of them could be funny at times. There was one of the servants, Peter, who was supposed to stand by during the etiquette lessons my nanny gave me. Well, I told you how proper she was. When she wasn't looking or had left the room he'd make funny faces or silly noises to try to make the lessons more bearable for me. He left after I went to boarding school." She looked out at the water. "Not a servant but Maurice, my mom's party planner, is pretty funny at times but you kind of have to meet him. It's a little hard to explain. The stable hands are always nice and a lot more laid back than most of the servants." A slight pause. "There is one more servant I want to tell you about. Gerald, our House Manager. He's been with the family for about 24 years. He's the person in charge of me when there are no other adults around. Well, really even if my parents are around. Now, that my brother is gone, if something happens the school calls him. Things like that. He's really nice and has always taken care of me. I guess those are the main ones. Most of the servants didn't bother with me beyond doing their jobs. Being most didn't stay longer than a few months I can understand that, I suppose."
JD looked at the ground for a moment. "I have been moving around my whole life. I have no idea what it is like to live in one place. To grow up with the same friends. I don't know if I would give up the experience of traveling the world. But to have good friends that I have grown up with would have been great. T meet you years ago that would be a dream come true. this is the first time my family has had a house of our own. It scares me some to think I will be here facing the same friends every day. What if I mess up with them or even you. I am not even sure how to deal with that." JD stopped talking he felt stupid for dumping all that on Rose. "I have had a chance of a lifetime I to had tutors and private instruction. I wish in art." JD chuckles. "all mine was language, general studies, the art of combat, and survival. Sometimes I feel like the kid in the spy movies. I guess I just want you to know that I am not the average guy. People might say things maybe about you too just for being with me. I am scared that it will be too much for you." JD said still looking at the ground his voice with a lack of confidence. "I can take on armed men and be fine but to see you hurt would be too much for me I think." JD finishes.
Rose said, "I never had a good friend my own age until I came here. Sam's my first real friend, like that. I had a hard time connecting with other kids when I was younger and in boarding school, the kids there always seemed to have an angle. Our friends seem like the type that will forgive mess ups. They are real friends it makes a difference. And I can't think of anything that would make me not want to be with you." She took a breath. 'I don't think an average guy could deal with me or my family. I'm not concerned about what other people say about us. I deal every day with people who say stuff about me, and that started before we even met. Nothing anyone says will change how I feel about you. " She took a breath, "I can take more than most people give me credit for and as long as we are together I think I can handle anything."
JD gave Rose a kiss "I am not sure what I have done to get a beautiful girl like you But I am glad it happened." He said as they started to walk to the end of the pier holding hands swinging their arms.
They kissed and she smiled at him. Frankly, she felt lucky that she had met him. They made it to the end of the pier and Rose stood there for a moment. Sharing another kiss with him. It was nice to just be in the moment with JD. "So, what should we do next?" Rose asked.
JD smiles and giver Rose a passionate kiss and embrace her for an answer when they come up for air. "Walk on the beach? he says softly to Rose.
"Sure," she smiled at him. They made their way to the beach. Rose took off her shoes, so she could walk without getting sand in them. Rose looked out over the sparkling water. "The beaches here are really different than on Long Island. They seem bigger here, wider maybe." It was an observation, not a complaint. "And it would be a little too cold there by now to be wearing shorts." She was dressed in denim shorts and a short sleeved top and had just realized how that wouldn't happen this time of year where her family estate was. Her former boarding school would have been even colder.
