The Auction and The Aftermath (Part 4)
Part 4: Conner, Courtney, Kaylee and Blossom
JP with Redsword and Jaxx
Takes place Thursday evening
After Matt went outside to place the pizza order, people seemed to start to talk in smaller groups. Courtney figured this would be the perfect time to organize at least some of Conner's mess.
She walked over to Conner. "Hey, will you come with me for a few minutes?"
Conner got a sly grin, "I would go with you anywhere Courtney" He said, standing and following her.
Courtney rolled her eyes and joked, "That flirting is what gets you into these messes."
She walked with him, not far, but to a small room that was empty and opened. "Here this is good." They went in and she took a seat. "Well, I guess things need to be coordinated for you. You know you owe me dinner tomorrow night for helping you out." She smiled at him.
He flourished a smile. "Ooo.. just you and me?" He asked with a wink. "Matt coming?"
Courtney laughed. "No Matt. He's taking Kaylee out to dinner. So, yup just you and me."
"Cool, it’s been a while for us. We are both busy with things but ya, I am up for it," he said. "You get to pick the place, ok?" he asked.
Courtney thought for a moment, "How about if you surprise me?”
Conner thought for a moment, "OK I will do that. "Hmm... we have not been to I can think of a few places," he says
"OK, well that's settled. I guess on to the next thing. Do you have a date already planned with Blossom?" Courtney asked.
Conner considered the question. "We did talk about the zoo; maybe Sunday. I was going to plan that but that's all I have so far," replied conner.
Courtney nodded. "Okay, well the two other days you have with Blossom and Kaylee might have to be second dates. If Saturday is the boardwalk party, Sunday you'll be at the zoo, next Saturday is the dance but I think that's it for the big things for the weekends. Do you have anything else planned that you wouldn't be free?" Courtney was organized but this was how she did it. Mostly in figuring it in her mind before putting it down anywhere.
Conner grinned, "You know me I am always ready for fun. Kaylee is easy. It's Blossom that's a little harder. I think I could take her for Ice cream. There is a nice place by the beach. With Kaylee, there are a few other places we can go," answered Conner.
Courtney thought for another moment, "I guess then the next thing is to coordinate with each of them individually. Blossom seemed really nervous about what happened. I think she wouldn't want to do this in front of Kaylee." She then said, "Let me text Kaylee first and get her in here."
"That is best for Blossom. I think she can get intimidated easily. One at a time with all the girls will keep things simple. I don't want to cause problems for any of them.” Conner said agreeing with Courtney.
Kaylee was talking to Riley when the text came. She looked at her phone and joked. "I'm being summoned, apparently."
The girl walked to where Courtney and Conner were and went in the door. "Bonjour," she greeted both of them. "What's up?"
Courtney responded, "We're just trying to coordinate things. When are you free? Minus the big events happening at the school and Saturday."
Kaylee thought for a moment, "After the dance, I'm free most weekend days, evenings whenever."
Courtney thought for a moment and turned to Conner. "The Sunday after the dance? Will that work for the things you've thought about doing?"
"Conner smiled. "Yeah, that's good, any time for Kaylee. Now, what to do?" Conner thought this will be a busy few weeks. This will show him what he wanted to know who he would settle down with and date.
Kaylee smiled at Conner, "Well, I'm sure you'll come up with something interesting."
Courtney then said, "Okay, that was easy."
Kaylee asked, "Do you want me to get Blossom?"
Courtney shook her head, "No, I'll do that."
Kaylee and Courtney walked out of the office.
Kaylee noticed her brother just walked in and he announced that the pizzas will be here in about 10 minutes. She sat down by Sam and Heath and Matt did the same.
Courtney went to Blossom and quietly spoke, "Can you come with me for a sec.?” Everyone was having their own conversations so it was easy to not be overheard except by the people Blossom might have been talking to.
Blossom looked at Courtney with a puzzled look, at first, since she was not sure what Courtney wanted. However, she didn't think it was bad to talk to her so she nodded as she got up to follow Courtney.
Blossom: Ummm okay. What did you want to talk about?
Courtney nodded. "It's nothing major. Just need to coordinate some stuff." She led Blossom to the room Conner was waiting in and opened the door. "Feel free to have a seat if you want. We just want to know when you're free for the date Conner will owe you from the auction." She paused. "Oh, this is a second one next to anything else you have planned." Another moment. "I suppose it can be any Friday except tomorrow, any Sat or Sunday after the weekend of the dance."
Blossom had to think about what was said as he felt this was happening rather fast. It kind of felt like she was applying for a job at the town general store. Then the true reality hit her in that she had no schedule except for school now that she was away from home. Sadly she felt a bit disappointed in that thought before she spoke up.
Blossom: Ummm I don't have anything planned except for school so any day is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with cheerleading and school stuff.
Conner gave her his charming smile, "This is about what you want, Blossom. You get to choose that day and the place you would like to go. I do have a few places in mind. It's not about what I want, it is what you want." said Conner.
Blossom blushed as she nodded at Conner. After he promised to take her on a date she has been seeing him as cute. She hoped she was not pushing her luck since she lacked confidence on her lack of feminine charm.
Blossom: Ummm thank you but I really don't have any plans at all other than school so I have a lot of free time outside of cheering.
This was harder than with Kaylee but Courtney had suspected it might be. She thought for a moment, "I think the football games are starting soon so we'll have to make sure it won't interfere with you cheering for those. Or you could do it during the week but you'd have less time." Courtney pulled out her phone and hit a few buttons. Scrolled a bit and said. "Here it is. The day before the dance is an away Varsity game. Does that work?"
Blossom nodded at Courtney who was sounding more and more like Conner's Hollywood agent. Blossom was feeling a bit flustered.
Blossom: Umm sure. If that is okay.
Courtney smiled at Blossom, "I know I sound like his administrative assistant or maybe his agent. Sorry, didn't mean it to come out that way. It's just how my mind organizes stuff." She paused, turning to Conner. "Good with you?"
Blossom nodded as she was unable to speak at the moment. She felt dumb for not having anything to say in the matter. Her eyes were wide open and she held her hands to her chest hoping not to upset Courtney. She was glad she got a date with Conner but it felt more like an appointment with him instead. Then it dawned on her that they had not detailed the actual date.
Blossom: So what are we going to do on the date?
Conner looked puzzled, "Well, it does not have to be if you don't want it to be but you did win time with me or more like me with you. This is part of your bid. We can spend that time any way you want, Blossom." Conner said.
Blossom paused as she puffed out one cheek to the side, and looked to the side, as she was embarrassed.
Blossom: It’s my first date Conner and I am in a big city. I have no idea what to do.
"I did promise you the zoo but this is different, we still have that later. I know a really nice cafe we could go to." He got a sly grin. "I will do anything with you, I mean anything.” He said with a seductive voice, then he chuckled. Conner wondered if he went too far with his teasing her. He knew Courtney would know he was joking.
Blossom was surprised by Conner offering up two dates now. This was more than she was expecting at this point and blushed red as he flirted with her. She was starting to feel a bit hot and attracted to him for the first time. It was causing her to get very nervous as she was fighting the urge to squeal.
Blossom: Oh.....okay. Tha… that sounds good.
Courtney could have smacked Conner but she learned long ago that only tended to hurt her hand. She rolled her eyes at his flirting and gave Blossom a gentle but friendly smile and said to the girl, "So, see that worked out. I think the pizza might be here soon if you want to go out and get some," Courtney didn't want to be rude but she wanted to talk to Conner alone.
Blossom nodded as she got up and kept looking at the smug Conner as she left the room. Once she was out of the door she made her way back to the other to get some pizza.
Once Blossom was gone, Courtney let out a breath, looked at Conner, and said. "You know flirting with Kaylee is one thing. She's not going to take it the wrong way but can you not come on so strong with Blossom? She's new to all this dating stuff and we really don't know how she'll take it. You might choose her, in the end, but what if you don't? None of us wants to see her hurt. I know that includes you."
Conner did not reply right away. "I was seeing where she was and if she would play along. It was intentional and I won't do that to her again, Courtney. I was going to apologize if she got too hurt or uncomfortable with my comment," said Conner. He looked at his phone then put it away "who do we have next?" he asked.
Courtney nodded, "I'm not sure if she'd tell you if it bothered her but it definitely might have gotten her more interested in you. Just sayin'. But okay, I understand why you did it." Next? Oh, yeah that. Courtney thought for a moment. "Alex, but I don't know how to get in touch with her. I think that just might have to be set up later. You'll be with her tomorrow for half the day so just set it up then and text me so I can keep it straight. I'm going to put all of this in my calendar and then send it to you." She laughed slightly, "I guess you're lucky I'm not also asking for more time with you."
Conner smiled, "You can have all the time you want as long as Matt is good with it." Replied Conner, "So, off to pizza?" He asked.
Courtney smiled at him, "Pizza sounds good." They went back out to where everyone else was as JD and Rose came back into the room as well.
