Like Flying (Part Ten)

Sunday Afternoon Beach Party

The date with JD, Rose, Conner and Kaylee continued.

Conner smiled, "We are famous. Wait, is that good or bad JD?" He said with a grin. JD looked back at Conner as they walk "I will know when my dad texts me," he answered. "All I do know is that will be hard to beat today," said JD.

They got their things and as soon as JD mentioned being all over social media; Rose's face fell a little. That could be a problem for her. She however covered it quickly. The girl hadn't thought about social media or that she might end up all over it.

Kaylee looked at her phone. It had been fun and, social media or not, didn't bother her. "Well, not exactly how I planned to become famous but it was worth it."

It came to what to do next. The choice was up to the girls. They opted for getting some coffees and then headed back to the beach party while there were a few hours before everyone had to pack up and go back to the dorms.

They got to the coffee shop a little after 3 PM and just a few minutes after getting out of the simulator place. It was then that Kaylee's cell vibrated. She looked at it and breathed a laugh.

"It’s Matt," She said then directed what she said next to Conner. "He wants to know if me, ending up all over social media, is going to be a thing if we have any more dates." She laughed. "He added we all looked good but now he might have to take Courtney there."

Rose was almost scared to look when her phone vibrated. Looking at the phone she said, "It's Sam." She read it for a moment then said to JD. "She said you actually got me to do something that surprised her. So, congrats. " Clearly it had been meant as a joke.

JD had been unusually quiet. He just looked at his phone now and then. JD looked at Rose gave her a kiss "I am so sorry about this It was a great idea I thought. I just did not think it through. It is my fault." He said quietly to her. Conner looked in the back through the mirror. He did not need to know how JD was feeling, now, he could see it. Conner sighs "JD don't worry, this will all blow over in time." He said trying to make JD feel better.

JD looks back from upfront "I am good Conner. I have this covered.” He looked at his phone again and rolled his eyes and text something. "My mom is alright and wants to know more about Rose. My dad, well, he has not texted me back yet now that's scary," he said with a half-grin.

Rose gave JD a kiss. "I'm sure it'll be fine."

The four of them finished their coffees then headed back to the beach trip area. Once they got to the parking lot and out of the car. Rose and JD walked off but Kaylee asked Conner to stay back a moment. She hugged him and said. "I thought it was better if I thanked you for today here than at the guest house. Today was great. So, Merci beaucoup." She paused and then said. "Just so we're clear. I'll never be upset with you for choosing what or who's right for you. Even if, in the end, your decision isn't me." She didn't think that statement would be as hard to say as it was; even if it was true. After today Kaylee wanted it to be her more than before but if it wasn't right for him; there was really nothing to be mad about. Kaylee just didn't have it in her to be mad about such things. She gave him another hug and a kiss on the cheek to let him know she meant what she said.

Rose and JD walked to the guest house and Rose kissed him. "Today was amazing. Thank you for... well...all of it." It really had been better than she could have ever thought.

Conner looked Kaylee deep into her eyes and sighed, "I am sorry for not knowing. but I want to know there is no one else before I comment at least for now. In the past, I would just go from girl to girl without a second thought. I don't want that anymore. You deserve better than that. I am glad you understand." he says. "Oh what the hell," he says. He leans down and wraps his arms around her then kisses her on the lips if she lets him.

JD smiled at what Rose told him. "It was the best time for me too. I know we have to pack and I will see you at Conner's car later for a ride back right? And if you need anything just call me ok?" He said holding her in his arms and kissed her.

The kiss was completely unexpected but Kaylee easily gave in to it because she had wanted him to do that all day. The kiss ended and she leaned back and smiled at him. She couldn't speak for a moment but then said. "I should probably go and pack." Though part of her didn't want to leave that moment. Still, she knew she needed to. She gave him one last kiss and then the two got out of his car and headed back to the guest houses.

Rose returned the kiss and said. "I will." The couple parted and Rose headed inside to pack.

Conner when back to the room and met up with JD they discussed the day and the girls.
