Beach Talk -open

(Day 4 - Friday, Beach Party)

While Dawn and her group were enjoying their s’mores, Blossom was showing Ashley, Jack, and Justin how to make s’mores as well. It made Blossom feel good to be the one showing the others something she was good at. Even though Ashley knew how to make s’mores already she let Blossom take the spotlight to help her with her confidence. Jack quietly ate to avoid talking and Justin was looking around for Kyle. He was hoping that they could talk a bit more.

Kyle wandered around, said hi to a few people, saw a number of people catch marshmallows on fire. He then spotted Justin. Going over to the other boy. "Hey," Kyle said. Just then the music came back on and people started to get loud with laughing and talking. "Do you want to go for a walk?"

He hoped he wasn't being too forward but someplace quieter might be nice.

Justin smirked a bit as Kyle was hinting at some alone time. he wonder which direction this conversation might go. Granted he did find Kyle to be cute, but he also hoped they could still be friends at the very least. Though he was not vocal about it he had no shame in admitting he was gay. However he was not foolish to stand on a soap box and announce it since that often invited trouble. So he played it cool and hoped for the best. He was glad Jack accepted him as a friend and was not in the least uncomfortable with him. Though he came off as a sour puss, Justin believed Jack was a decent guy. So he looked at Kyle with a smirk and nodded at him.

Justin: Sure.

Justin then followed Kyle as he spoke up.

Justin: The DJ is not bad but I am not a big fan of the type of music they are playing. I think the "Cool Kids" are over compensating to shame the rest of us. So tell kyle what type of music are you into?

Once Justin said Ok to talking a walk, Kyle started walking more towards the water and then up the beach to an area that was quieter, not too far as to seem strange for just having met but at least they could talk there without having to shout or being interrupted every minute by something. As they were walking Kyle heard Justin mention the music and the cool kids. He smiled. "I think you're right." About the rich kids overcompensating. "My music tastes are pretty eclectic but I mostly like older rock and pop like pre-2000 but there is some newer stuff that's good as well that I like." He grew up exposed to all kinds of music and it showed. "How about you what kind of music do you like?" He meant besides what they had discussed at the track, Kyle remembered that talk the first day they met.

Zander talked to some of the nerds before he separated out of them, walking a little closer towards the water he heard. "Oh, shit."

Looking up he saw a girl, who had been floating on a raft that apparently had overturned with one of the waves. She made her way back to the shore and was holding something. "Damner...Damner...." He heard her explain. (Damn, Damn)

Curious Zander went over to her, she was pretty and looked to be about his age. "What's wrong?"

She sighed. "I got this waterproof case to hold my cell but it turned out to not be so waterproof."

He raised a brow. "Let me see it."

"Can you fix it?" The girl asked.

"I won't know unless I look." Zander calmly said.

He took the phone out of the case and looked at it. It had gotten water into it but all wasn't lost. He said. "Wait here" Running into the boys' guest house he came back out a few moments later with a small box and a kit. He told the girl to follow him and took the phone to a less sandy area, put down a blanket, and using what looked like very small tools he took apart the phone, got most of the water out of it, and then put it in some sort of stuff that looked like rice but wasn't. "You'll have to leave it in here for about 10 minutes."

"OK," She said. "I'm sorry, I usually don't swear like that. It's just..."

"Your whole life is on that phone," Zander responded. "I get it." He paused for a moment. "What's your name?"

"Kaylee, Kaylee Auclair."

"Well, Kaylee it's nice to meet you. I'm Zander." Zander had briefly met Matt through Dawn but he didn't know the young man's last name and didn't make the connection that this was Matt's sister.

The two had some small talk about the weather and the beach and the school and ten minutes passed. Zander took the cell out and handed it to her, "Turn it on and try a few apps and the keyboard."

It took her a moment and a smile came to her face. "You did it. You fixed it. I could hug you."

"No problem." Zander smiled at her.

They both stood up and Zander took up the kit and the blanket it when he heard. "Hey, Zander are you coming?" It was the nerds who had a plan to get some chess games started. "Yeah, I'll be right there." He said. Zander then turned to Kaylee. "I'll see you later."

"Bye, thanks again. " The girl said before wandering off.
