Talk of the summer

"Who are you going to get to teach you?" Conner asked Courtney. "JD was trying to show me in the summer. that's where I met him on the beach. It was funny suddenly there were all these people hanging out from the different high schools. It turned into a party that night. it was fun." he said"

She thought for a moment as Conner asked who would teach her. "Don't know, yet. I reckon I'll find someone." They did go to a school in California, after all, and Courtney wasn't shy about asking.

Conner went on to explain about meeting JD and the parties. "That sounds like fun." As for JD; she just assumed, it would be someone she meet at some future point.

Courtney's summer had been spent with her family, at their farm. She always felt a little guilty not being around to help them more but her family was understanding and knew the kind of opportunity a school like this offered her.
