"Master Mar may i please have my saber for the track across the desert" She asked knowing they would probably need to leave soon. She did not like the idea of being out in the open with no defense and the desert was open very open. It was a sea of nothing but sand as far as anyone could see. "I don't like the idea of being out in the open and unable to defend myself" she said.

Mar looked at Serenity's request with bemusement. He looked to RED-1 and said: "Droid, what you are about to see is me teaching my new student a lesson, nothing more. Should you interfere, I will not hesitate to cut you down." He took Serenity's saber and tossed it to her and then produced his own lightsaber and ignited it.

“Masster Mar will find cutting me in half is not easy I am not just some scrap droid and you’re not the first to threaten me with a light saber” said the droid. The droid turned away from Mar. “I will release your ship Master Mar.” The droid stops still facing away. “Padawan Serenity, If you excepted him as your master its out of my hands My mission to bring you back is over” the droid starts to walk off.

"Let's see how good you are with that blade, child." He took a minor defensive stance, one that a trained warrior would see several possible openings for attack, one that showed his utter confidence in the fact that he was well above her league in terms of lightsaber combat. It was a taunt, yet he was certain she wouldn't see it as such. "Attack me."

" I may be a child, but you can move faster" she said. there was confusion in her voice she was not trying to taunt him. She then steeped foreword bringing her own saber down towards his. She was actively aiming for Mar's saber not for him. She did not want to hurt him.

He decided to surprise her with a force ability of his own, yet it was more subtle than a dramatic force push. He instead focused on sending a nearby box of dehydrated foodstuffs careening into the back of her head while she was focused on deflecting his attacks.
