Not A Typical Master
“I would rather have died a Jedi then live lost and alone. Is it the way of mastered to not care about what there apprentice wants?” She asked darkly.
Mar chuckled. "Masters typically focus on what their apprentice needs rather than wants. You're alive, that's all that matters in the end."
” You don’t want to do that trouble seams to follow me everywhere I turn. I’ll never be a Jedi I couldn’t even protect my master. Could that have been why the second one left” she shook her head.
He could sense her hesitation. He could understand why she'd be reluctant. "Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter now. You need help, guidance. Being alone won't help."
His mind went back to that day, on that distant planet, hunting a jedi. Alone he trekked through the unforgiving wildnerness until he found himself being the hunted. And just when he thought he'd die as the latest meal for some alien carnivore, she came and saved him. Nursed him back to health. And for a time the two of them found they needed one another to simply survive.
He'd been alone too, and seeing Serenity he saw himself in that jungle. The pendant around his neck felt heavier than usual.
"You can't do this alone, Serenity. Let me help. Or I'll just have to keep your lightsaber until you do." He smirked.
