Will Of The Force
“ I’m serenity, and you feel extremely guilty about something” she said.
Her attention was locked on him now like a tractor beam. “ I understand that an inquisitor came to the forest home of master paren and I about two years ago. My masters insisted I hide he would not allow me to fight with him. I watched my master die theta day. Then spent the next two years running” she said. She dropped her gaze to the flore and her mind once again decided into chaos. “ it’s my falt if I had been stronger Maby I could have helped him.” She said after a few moments.
Mar's blood froze when Serenity voiced her sensing his emotions. She was good. Better than she herself even realized. He listened to her story. It sounded like a story he'd seen a hundred times before.
"No." Mar finally said. "Your master did the right thing in hiding you from them. Because they wouldn't have killed you, they would've tried turning you. And that process is..." His voice trailed off. "In either case, if you had fought by his side... you would've died. The Inquisitors aren't to be trifled with." He then cleared his throat as he took a seat and glanced to her again.
"I turned away from them and they hunted me... two years too." He chuckled at the irony. "The things I did... I don't think anything will ever make them right." He looked her in the eye now. "But I made a promise to someone. To try and make it right. And it's clear you are in need of help... in need of..." he was hesitant to say it. "A master..."
"I know I wouldn't be your first choice. But I do know things. I know the path of the dark side, how easy it is to follow it. You want to stay in the light, perhaps what you need is someone who knows the dark to keep you out of it...." He wasn't sure what he was saying. All he knew was that The Force had brought him to this girl, and she needed help. And he had a promise to keep.
