Memory Within

The Raven listened to the elf girls words and cocked its head to one side considering her meaning. The other would have known, he would have understood but he was silent now.

The shadow magic caught the Raven by surprise and it fluttered back away from its gathering power. Shadow magic but not... It was familiar. The heart of the other quickening in its chest. A memory of pain and anger.

The Raven decided that this was a test and withdrew its own power until it was hidden deep within and the bird was all that remained.

It cawed and hopped closer to the elf girl, ignoring the magic now as a thing irrelevant to a mundain bird.
