Cayemar is the name given by men to the kingdoms of the northern continent of Midgard. The Ragnarok shook the world to its very foundation's making much of it dark and inhospitable. In the lands of Cayemar human civilisation blooms once more.
The village of Nettlehole lies on the northern border of human lands and is far enough away from any of the great cities to be free of their rule. For that reason it is also vulnerable.
To the north the aptly named Trollmarch Plain stretches on for hundreds of miles before meeting the frozen peaks of the Mountains of Elmar.
To the west Cayemar meets the ocean with only the lonely Isle of Belkaru between its shores and the endless falls that mark the borders of the mortal realm.
To the east lies the Elder Wood, a vast forest where the powers of nature have seized control of the land in defiance of both God's and men.
And to the south of Cayemar lie the lands known only as The Wrath. A blasted and warped landscape, still bearing the scars of the war that killed the gods.
