Standing Firm

Balar peered into the darkness past the hulking form of the giant. His axe was in his hand and his brow furrowed in concentration. He could hear the approaching footsteps and what sounded like the rumble of stone on stone.

"He comes." Erik breathed as a vast shadow loomed ahead of them.

"Screw this." Majvoc spat as he turned and strode off after thier companions.

"Come back." Tiella hissed at the thief.

"Leave him be." Balar said, "there are too many of us to do much good in this narrow space anyway. If it comes to blows it will be grief all round."

"Brother." Came a deep voice from the shadows. "Brother stand firm and I will release you from your torment."

The ground began to shake.
