Hey everyone
In the effort to keep this game going Nim came up with the idea of making a rule that if a person doesn't respond to a post that one or more of their characters are involved with, then the character/characters will become public domain until the owner returns. This is to prevent storylines from "dying" if one member doesn't remember which has become a big problem in this game lately.
We understand that there can be many reasons as to why someone might not be able to respond, but if we don't get any messaged as to why the person isn't replying this could be a way to help keep the storylines going.
Please let us know what you think of this idea and/or If you have any other suggestions of how to solve this problem.
Cheers
Nim and SilverCloud

Due to technical difficulties I'll be posting Rosmarys reply here:
I know a week can slip by pretty fast sometimes, but if a player is holding everyone up for two weeks or more I don't have a problem with this solution, especially if the established characterization is respected and the character is written only as much as need be.
Another idea is if you're stuck in a stalled story you can in the meantime perhaps write a side-plot with someone. Tedwar and I once did a flashback series of posts taking place a few days earlier with Kalena commissioning Gularzob to make her some new armour. This was at a time when Kalena was stuck with nothing to do after coming back from the Inn. A side-plot like this can take place at some point in the past and the events of it can come into play later on. It can be open-ended and frivolous, but it's something that can let you keep writing and developing your character and the world of the game.
For example, Ceriden could have been doing something a few days or weeks before he met Sabina and Gareth. Dorion could know Horo and share an interest in strange curios, or Boros is one of Horo's suppliers. Simon and Kline's encounter with each other in that ambush on the General could be depicted in a flashback, and also feature William, assully's Verdish soldier character, and the late Van too. Since we use a dating system in our posts we can do things like this without any confusion.
