Archway of Bones
-Dalen Capital, Lower Quarter. Evening, 2 DSTR-
“What answers do we need?” Kline said and looked at Lafayette. “They will talk, trust me, and then they will die.” He said in a dark voice. “They will talk, they will.” He growled out the words. "And we will bring the heads of them to the Queen and their families to show to those in the Kingdom you do not do this sort of thing. I am sure the Queen will be grateful for removing such cancers on our land."
Lafayette let out a nervous laugh at the casualness of Kline speaking of torture and slaughter of a prisoner. "Do remind me to stay on your good side." he swallowed hard. Before running to get his sword and a few things from his metal pack. He returned as Kline's men did with their weapons.
Lafayette had followed mostly quite until now. "Yes I am ready." he said pulling out his short sword. What it lacked in reach made up for with speed. "Just give me the orders." he told Kline ready to play solider, for two reasons. One the man was Kline's friend, and two he knew nothing about this area and its cramped stone alleys.
"It very much feels like we are being watched." Lafayette whispered to Kline after striding up beside him. "I realize I said your call on all of this but perhaps we should be more on guard. If that is even possible." he tried to make light of this and contain his nervousness. Something that rarely happened. He was used to fighting gorilla warfare style, though knowing the how it was done made him nervous to be on the other end of it.
Eliza stayed very close to the group clutching a knife that if you listened hard when she adjusted her hands she was gripping it tightly enough the leather on the handle squeaked. She was clearly not a fighter but didn't want to be left out of all of this. If someone jumped her she could surely stab them but wouldn't be of use in a true one on one.
