Laying Low

Jack was watching LeLu eat her 8th bowl of chicken stew and begin on her ninth and last bowl. He was amazed by how much food she could put away. It was even more amazing all her fat stayed in her huge chest and nowhere else.

Jack: You feeling better now?

LeLu: Yes thank you. I am feeling better now. Last night was a bit rough on me since I am still recovering from being a slave. You know this country protects men like that.

Jack: So I've noticed. I have yet to see the law men come to our aid as those slavers or bandits freely walk the streets and attack us in broad daylight. Especially that dark elf who was very persistent.

Jack peeked out the window from the second story and saw the same dark elf talking to a pretty woman while pointing swords at each other.

“My name is Kalena, by the way. And how are you called?”

The bewildered look lingered on Oruvand's face. His mind took a bit longer than he was proud of to process that information. After a few seconds, the tension eased from his face, and he returned his rapier to the strap on his waist, before standing and dusting himself off.

"Well, my name is Oruvand," He started, eyes flickering between the girl and the Inn,"And actually I'm a hunter. A bounty hunter."

He took a few steps back, so that a large tree stood between him and the Inn.

"You speak of a dangerous killer? Well there happens to be one in this Inn. I'd bet my crossbow it's the one you're talking about. I intend on bringing him in. Still contemplating whether or not I should kill him first."

He crossed his arms, staring through the window behind the cover of his tree.

"Funny, I thought he would run, but it appears he's holding out here. I think he's eating in his room. Sure as hell not in the dining room."

He then turned to the woman, a smile forming on his face as he spoke.

"Well, Kalena, since you were so eager to apprehend me a second ago, how about the real deal?" He said, gesturing towards the Inn.

As Jack watched their body language he got the idea they were now working together and looking for LeLu and him. Now his plan to hide in the Inn became a problem if they barged in. He instructed LeLu to put on her armor and boots as he readied his gear for a quick escape.

LeLu: Are we in trouble? (holding her stew)

Jack: Not yet. They are looking for us right now, but they don't know where we are yet. So for now get dressed, eat and rest up. We can hole up here for as long as we need to till they try to take us by force. The healthier you are the easier it will be for me to run at faster speeds.

LeLu: Jack? Maybe you should leave me here and escape. I am only slowing you down and using up your money. I am......

Jack: A beautiful woman. LeLu if I left you here to become a sex slave for those jerks I would have serious trouble with my conscious. You had your chance to run but you chose to remain with me despite the odds. For better or worse we are stuck together.

LeLu: Thank you Jack. All I have is my body to repay you with.

Jack: That's a very tempting offer LeLu. However this is a very bad time and our hearts wouldn't be in it. If we do go there one day I want it to be special and not a form of payment.

LeLu: How can you be so kind to me?

Jack: My mom raised me that way.

LeLu: Your not an elf or even half elf are you?

Jack: When did you figure it out?

LeLu: Your mannerisms are to different. I suspected it also when you defeated those slavers who tried to capture you.

Jack: I'm half Incubus. My mom was a Succubi. I kinda gained some of her powers before she told me to have my own adventure. Unfortunately I am already off to a bad start. The only good thing about it so far is you.

LeLu: Jack if you need to leave me behind...

Jack: By then I'll be dead or in shackles with you. Now eat up. Till we can find a better way I need you to eat when we can, sleep when we can and run when we have to. We live on the run for now. Eventually we will find a better solution.
