Shocked

Lafayette shrugged closing his eyes, "Reformer perhaps, not in the way you seem to imply I simply think people should all have the power to get a head." he said, "Not everyone a leader. Just the power to not starve." he explained looking at her again, He looked through his box again taking out a stack of papers. "Trade routes, agreements and plans for benefits of doing so." he said. "Written and notarized by Kaïs Dubois of Dubois Trading." Lafayette shook the pages putting them back in the case.

"Now you are likely interested in why I am so willing to show my sword. I do know many a method in which to take down an opponent I don't want to if avoidable." he said. "I rather dislike the idea of following in my fathers foot steps." Lafayette added as he stood up to stretch and pace a bit.

"Who?" he asked as she mumbled about some man who's name started with an H. "Do they sell tea?" he asked Kalena as he watched her drink the tea, he didn't meet many who like it as dark as he did. Most found it far to bitter and tasting of as they like to but it 'leaves and earth' Lafayette how ever didn't find issue with this. That is what it was earthy leaves.

After some thought Lafayette looked at the tree line where the sun should rise. "I accept your kind offer of attending your dinner party. Seeing as how I would be rather under dressed I hope what clothes I have would be enough." Lafayette answered her looking back to her. "I have not had a proper meal or company in quite some time. Sailing across the ocean, the food was lacking and the company well they were not quite the conversationalists I am used to."
