Planning Phase

Oruvand now stood just far enough away from the Inn to scout it out without being seen. If he was right, (and he was fairly confident that he was) the man that he was hunting was inside of the building ahead of him. He had never been inside of the Inn, but careful scouting would take care of it.
Now, because he was naturally attentive, he now knew a few things about his target.
He was fast, first of all, adept in magic, and would use his magic to either fight or flee. Right now the half-elf seemed more keen on fleeing. The other thing he had learned was that the half-elf was either incredibly naive, incredibly dumb, or a combination of the two. The man had committed several counts of murder on the outskirts of town, and of all things, decided to go on a stroll through said town. It was almost as if he had figured that the other places weren't part of the main town, or that murdering slavers was perfectly fine. Sure, the slavers were horrible people, but slavery in Dalen is legal, and everyone knows that. Except this guy, apparently.
Either way, those observations meant that his next move would be rather predictable. He was going to run. Where to? Oru questioned if even the half-elf himself knew the answer to that question. But one show of Oru's face, and chances were, he was gone. And so, with that knowledge, Oru had to figure out the perfect way to intercept this fool before he got a chance to burn off again.
The first thing Oru was going to do was sleep outside. For all he knew, the simple opening of the Inn's front door might have been enough to send the half-elf on his way. The elf couldn't know that Oru was even close until it was too late.
The second thing was that, with the half-elf's rather naive nature in mind, Oru wouldn't be surprised if he came down for breakfast. That was when he planned to strike. Just as the Elf was coming down the steps (because Oru felt that without his presence, the Elf would have no reason to take an alternate exit), Oru would just simply walk in and position himself somewhere between himself and the door. It was a 'psychological ambush', if you will. The elf would feel that he was in danger, and likely either try to attack, or run. Oru only hoped that if the elf chose the latter, his being on the bottom floor, and having Oru blocking the front exit would make it hard for him.
Lastly, he thought of that lady friend of his. She didn't seem to slow him down much, but he appeared to be the type of good-hearted fellow that would go to great lengths to rescue someone he barely knew. In the reports, there was never any mention of a girl accompaning the 'Slaver-killing Demon', so she must have appeared recently. Most likely, she was a rescued slave that the man had grown smitten with. Perhaps separating the two would aid him.
With his plan on his mind, he laid down on the soil. It wasn't the first time he had to sleep on the ground. He fell asleep rather quickly, but he would only sleep for a few hours.
