Changing tactic
"No. Please don't kill the horse." the horse was just an innocent animal and without it she would be forced to walk all the way back to nearest city, wherever that might be. Slowly, but reluctantly, she dismounted the horse, since she didn't want to risk it getting hurt.
"I'm sorry that I said those things, Gareth" she said and looked at him "I know it's not your fault that you are the way you are, but it just scares me a little, allright? And I'll admit that the only reason why I bought you was to use you for this spell, but things have changed and I hope that you will understand that it's nothing personal.". She really hoped he would believe this and forgive her, though there were a very real chance that she'd just made it all worse.
She then turned to Ceriden. She really needed to change tactic if she were ever to get out of this alive. "I'm so sorry Ceriden, but you have no idea of what will happen to me if I loose this book." She said, almost in tears. The tears were not interily fake, though of course she did hope it would help make him feel sorry for her, but she truly was scared. She also hoped that he wouldn't keep asking to get the spys body aswell as she feared he might just let Gareth have him, which meant the spy would end up like that poor cow earlier, something that she couldn't bear thinking of.
"And you already have murdered one man, the spy, and used his soul to create that.. that thing" she said and pointed towards the wraith "so I don't quite get your point about that. Though if you no longer wants to help me, the that spy really would have died for nothing. After all, he was just doing his job.". She looked at him with begging eyes "So, Ceriden, please help me with this spell and bring back an innocent man.".

Nothing personal?! Gareth frowned. Like that was a proper excuse? He was almost ready to just grab her and smash her into the nearest tree, but it was like something was holding him back. He almost felt sorry for her as she continued talking to Ceriden, even though he was still very hurt and upset about what she'd said to him, not that it was easy to read on his face.
He kept watching the both of them, still not sure of what to do or who's side he should take, even though he at the moment was definitely leaning towards Ceriden.
