A change in plans
(OOC – No no, that’s allright ;) And now Sabina and Gareth have moved to the same inn as Ceriden if that’s okay ;) )
As it was getting darker and darker around her, Sabina became more and more nervous. She knew this was the time when many of the real monsters would wake up and start hunting and sitting here by the campfire all alone she felt awfully exposed. She tried to calm herself down, thinking she was just being paranoid, but when her horse also began to look around anxiously it became too much for her. Quickly and quietly she decided started to pack her things and saddled the horse. She was just about to leave, when she suddenly remembered the slave and then paused for a moment. As she looked towards him she could see he was still asleep. She hesitated a little before she went over to the tree, untied him from it and then attached the end of his leach to the saddle once more. After having done this she mounted the horse, because it made her feel a bit safer, and then gently tugged in the chain. “Pssth! Wake up. We can’t stay here” she said in a loud whisper. Gareth slowly opened his eyes and was surprised to notice that the muzzle and the chains around his hands had been removed. He looked up at Sabina on the horse, wondering why she was in such a rush, but before he had time to figure that out the horse jumped back with a frightened neigh because of a dark shadow moving between the trees. The sudden pull had dragged him to his feet though he’d almost tumbled over too, but just barely managed to stay on his feet. As soon as he was up the frightened horse started to run away and he had no other choice, but to run or otherwise end up being dragged back to town. Despite his state he managed to keep up the pace, but was really relieved when they finally reached the city where Sabina once more slowed down the horse to a much more comfortable speed.
Sabina glanced back at Gareth and was surprised to see he’d been able to run as fast as the horse, though it had clearly left him even more exhausted than before. She stopped the horse outside the nearest inn they came by, let the stable boy take care of the horse and then went inside herself, leading Gareth with her by the chain around his neck. It was rather late, but she was still able to get a room for herself and a room for one slave aka Gareth. And even though the innkeeper didn’t like the idea she was allowed to let Gareth to a seat at the same table as her.
Gareth who first of all still had no desire to talk to her at all was too tired to even try to do anything to escape even though this might the best chance he was ever going to get. What now surprised him even more was that she even ordered food for both of them and he didn’t hesitate a second when the plate was placed in front of him.
