Difficult decisions
It simply became way too much for Sabina to take when she could feel Gareths breath on her neck. Luckily Ceriden interfered just in time, making Gareth suddenly let go of her really fast.
Gareth himself was a little surprised as well when he now realised what had been about to do. Quickly he looked down and quietly mumbled "... Sorry...". Half-hour was going to be a really long time to wait, but he just had to make it somehow.
Hearing Gareth speak, even though it had only been a silent mumbling, surprised Sabina a bit, but she couldn't focus on that for long. The fear when he had been so close at biting her wouldn't leave her body.
Then Ceriden told them who they'd just been talking to. She turned around and stared at him with disbelief "Garrison Commander Styliane?". If only half of what she'd heard about that woman were true, then they really had been extremely lucky to get away, just as he said. He then told about the change of plan. It wasn't because she couldn't agree with his point, but she really didn't like the thought of having to buy some poor animal only to let Gareth suck it dry. Nonetheless she nodded in agreement and followed Ceriden as he started walking.
As they walked she made sure that Gareth didn't fall too much behind and that she was right beside Ceriden at all times. She certainly didn't want to risk getting too close to the vampire as he seemed to have very little self-control left.
When arriving at the market district she started to look around. There quite a lot of different animals to choose from; chickens, sheep, some geese, goats and cows, even a few horses. The more she looked at the animals, the harder it became to choose. After some time she turned towards Ceriden "Are you sure there isn't another option?". She knew his answer would more than likely be no and when looking at Gareth it was all to clear that he really couldn't wait much longer. With a sigh she let her head drop "None of these animals deserves to die like that...". She said it in a low voice, hoping only Ceriden would be able to hear it.
