Desperate Times

LeLu: Thank you Jack. All I have is my body to repay you with.

Jack: That's a very tempting offer LeLu. However this is a very bad time and our hearts wouldn't be in it. If we do go there one day I want it to be special and not a form of payment.

LeLu: How can you be so kind to me?

Jack: My mom raised me that way.

LeLu: Your not an elf or even half elf are you?

Jack: When did you figure it out?

LeLu: Your mannerisms are to different. I suspected it also when you defeated those slavers who tried to capture you. Your magic is not elven.

Jack: I'm half Incubus. My mom was a Succubi. I kinda gained some of her powers before she told me to have my own adventure not to long ago. Unfortunately I am already off to a bad start. The only good thing about it so far is you.

LeLu: Jack if you need to leave me behind...

Jack: By then I'll be dead or in shackles with you. Now eat up. Till we can find a better way I need you to eat when we can, sleep when we can and run when we have to. We live on the run for now. Eventually we will find a better solution.

LeLu giggled as she listened to Jack talk so serious.

Jack: Something funny?

LeLu: My father would have hated you if you ever met him.

Jack: Really? Sorry to hear that.

LeLu: He was over protective and didn't like mixed blood in his clan. A cute guy like you with your charming words would have been dangerous to him and my sisters.

Jack: Charming? Me?

LeLu: Yes Jack. To be honest if these are truly out last moments I would prefer my first time be with you instead of some horrible person I would be sold to.

Jack: LeLu you talk as if we are already caught. Trust me I do have a plan.

LeLu: We have no place to run to. Even with your speed its just a matter of time before the find us again. If we run to Verden you will be killed for using magic. If we stay in Dalen you will be killed for killing those slavers even if it was in self defense. The people here don't have compassion for people like us and you are not a one man army even though you are amazing.

Jack: Hey worse case scenario LeLu, I'll just take you to my old home down south. It's surrounded by a Forbidden Forest full of scary monsters so only a fool with a death wish would follow us there. The weakest monster there is ten times stronger than any man. So don't worry LeLu your chastity is safe for now.

LeLu: Jack will you do something for me?

Jack: Sure what did you need? More food?

LeLu: No thanks. I have plenty. Please hold my hands

Jack shrugged and held her hands. Then LeLu began to chant in an elven language as a small golden strip of golden letters and symbols wrapped around their arms like a golden rope. Jack was confused by what LeLu was doing, but humored her anyway thinking it was some kind of weak healing spell. When she finished she turned beet red with embarrassment.

Jack: What was that all about?

LeLu: Please don't be mad, but I really don't think we will have much time together so..........I ummm.........

Jack: What did you curse me or something?

LeLu: I kinda performed an elven marriage ceremony.

Jack: Why? I'm not even an elf. Why settle for an idiot you just met?

LeLu: Even if we get out of this Jack. I have no home to go to. I have no people to go back to. Its all gone. No other tribe will take me in. I am an outcast like a half elf. The only option I have is to marry anyone who can accept me as I am. I know we just met and this is just the fear talking but I owe you a debt I can never pay back. You freed me, you fed me you clothed me when no one else would. I understand if you find me unpleasant. I eat to much, I am not smart and my chest is to big.

Jack: Lelu?? I...

LeLu: Its okay if you just make me a concubine. I know I am not good for much.

Jack: Please give me a break LeLu. I happen to find you very appealing, but the last thing I need it to give into your seduction skills while those two outside are planning to come after us. They are hoping we will go by a window so they can spot us. That Dark Elf is pretty hardcore.

"If you can find his room, I'll come in through the window, and force him out to the front. As far as damaging him, I'll see what I can do."
He looked up at the Inn, looking through the many windows for the, what, twelfth time?
"I wanted to use these windows to see if I could spot him early, but what if he did so first? And if he did, that would likely mean his room is on our side of the Inn. In that case, we'd want him to try and use the window; he'd still be moving towards you."
Oru had good eyes, he couldn't help but use them, and he had a bad habit of thinking of every possibility.

LeLu: Jack I'm scared.

Jack: Relax LeLu........No one knows there are two of us in this room. I told the Inn lady I am a scholar and I covered my features. We will get through this.......somehow.
