Alone in the forest

---- Somewhere in Skeldergate forest, around noon, 10 DSTR ----

Gareth had been walking all day, but still hadn’t found any signs indicating any people living in this area. Ever since he split up with Ceriden and Ponce, he had been searching for his family. If his memory was right, then they had been living in a forest. But this didn’t help much as he had found out how big this forest was, and it was far from the only forest in this country alone. Nevertheless, he hadn’t given up hope of finding them yet. He just had to systematically search though the forests one at a time, no matter how long it was going to take. It wasn’t as if he had anything better to do or place to go so he thought it worth a try.

Coming across a small opening in this otherwise dense forest he decided to take a break. He sat down on the grass, pulled his map out and unfolded it on the grass in front of him. The map had been a parting gift from Ceriden, along with the bag he had been carrying across his shoulder. Now he had the bag next to him and opened it up to enjoy its content. He had filled the bag with chunks of meat to avoid having to spend a lot of time hunting. It might not keep fresh for that long, but he didn’t mind too much.

While eating he had time to study the map a little closer. He just wished he knew a little more precisely where exactly he were at the moment to better avoid missing any parts of the forest.
