Ceriden frowned at the soldier who called himself Ponce's question. "The Skeldergate is a massive forest within Verden's geopolitical borders. I would have thought that you would have heard of it (OOC - in the game information section, click the link to 'SilverCloud's Map' for the closest thing we have to a canon map of the Two Kingdoms). As for why I want to go there, well, I believe there is someone that lives inside the forest that can help me learn the knowledge I seek," he replied.
"Anyway, I will treat you like a living, breathing person, perhaps more so than your father and your 'friend'," Ceriden gestured toward the blonde-haired zombie as he said this last part, "did. Now how about you and Gareth try to put aside your differences while I check out of the inn we were staying at. I don't know about you, but I am very much awake at this point, and I see no reason not to continue our adventure now."
Without waiting for a response, Ceriden turned away from Ponce and began to walk back toward the Inn, sending a telepathic message to Gareth. "Gareth, I'm going to retrieve our things from the room we rented. I'll be back soon. In the mean time, I'd appreciate it if you could settle your differences with Ponce, as I believe he has the potential to be a valuable ally. I understand that life has been unkind to you and given you very little reason to trust anyone, but we must be the change we want to see in the world. If we want the world to be a place where we are accepted for who we are, then we must first extend that tolerance and grace to other people."
The inn soon came back into sight. Ceriden opened the door, walked in, and started to make his way towards his room when...
"Hey hon, what took you so long? Is everything alright out there?"
Ceriden stopped turned toward the night manager. "Yes, everything is fine. We just walked the animal a fair distance away because we didn't want to disturb your guests.
"Oh, well, thanks... for that" she replied. Ceriden started to continue toward his room when she asked, "Where are you going?"
"To my room. We are leaving," he growled in response. This wasn't really her business.
"Are you sure everything is al..."
"Yes," Ceriden interjected before storming off. He went into the room he had rented, grabbed Sabina's bag, made sure everything was in it, and left. He passed the front desk on his way out of the inn, but he made no eye contact with the night manager. She didn't try to stop him either.
A few minutes later, Ceriden returned to the scene of the scuffle. "Are you guys ready to go?"
