Capitalizing on the Aftermath

-The Bramble Wood,
Very Near Jocelynn's Inn,
Early Morning, 1 DSTR-
Ceriden looked down at the soldier who was clearly done with this fight. "Ah, soldiers of Verden. That explains the sudden hostility between you and your foolish friend."
As the soldier lay back down on his back, Ceriden whispered, "If you are weak and tired, then rest..." He then quietly muttered a a lethargy spell, which, in conjunction with the soldier's already exhausted and defeated state, put him to sleep. He stood over the unconscious soldier for a moment, then glaced over at the fallen soldiers behind him. He then noticed that Gareth had gotten to his feet and was standing somewhere awkwardly. They would have a talk about this... later. For at that moment, Ceriden saw the red-haired soldier take a shallow breath. He was not long for this world, but Ceriden would be happy to capture his soul before it escaped.
He looked back down at the sleeping soldier and noticed his earrings. Oh, that will be perfect. Ceriden knelt by the soldier and carefully removed his right earing, then got up and strode toward the dying soldier. He knelt by the soldier and began incanting a spell he had read last night, plucking the soldier's spirit from his dying body and binding it to the earring. Once he was done, he fasted the earring to one of pockets in his robes by his right side, examined the now-dead soldier, then telekinetically snapped his neck back into place and murmured an incantation that caused the broken bones to mend together. After repairing the split nerves, Ceriden began incanting another spell, this time one he had read from his new book. Soon, the soldier's body began to twitch, and then it sat up. Ceriden smiled grimly. He could see why people feared necromancers and their zombies, for there was something unpleasant about the animated corpses of the dead.
Continuing to ignore Gareth, Ceriden moved back to blond haired soldier, removed the sword from his chest, and repaired his injuries. As he cast the animation spell once again, even the usually-sassy Erik remained silent.
Now with two zombies following him, Ceriden moved toward the first soldier that had attacked Gareth. This soldier took a lot more work to fix, but eventally, Ceriden was able to turn him into an animated corpse as well.
As the last soldier rose back to his feet, Ceriden stood back to admire his handiwork. His zombies looked back at him with dead, lifeless eyes. Shivering, Ceriden telepathically set the zombie-soldiers to recovering their weapons. In the sky above, the first rays of sunshine from the new dawn could be seen, and the unconscious soldier began to stir.
Ceriden finally looked back at Gareth, who looked quite uncomfortable at this point. "So, Gareth, what did we learn from that fight?"
