**Actionette** "Fight or flee"

Where: Earth Sector
When: After the Earth blew up
Efof heard the words of shock and grief from all the other pilots as
the Earth was turned to rubble. He dodged a piece of Brazil and
almost ploughed into Lincolnshire.
The call came through for all the fighters to return back to
the `Dwarf.
The Hymenopteran fleet now slowly started to turn around. For a few
minutes they had been thrown into disarray by the loss of their
leader, but as they all shared the same thoughts, they started
organising themselves pretty quickly again.
They finished off the last of the civilian ships, and turned their
attention to the Blue Dwarf.
"Time to leave I guess." Said Efof as he landed.
The Hymenoptera ship surrounded them and started closing off all
escape routes. Luckily the Dwarf could Wormhole-jump to the closest
system to escape.

"Department heads and senior staff in the drive room in fifteen for
debriefing." Phil said over the coms system. "In the meantime,
here's an announcement from the Space Corps that they just released."

The announcement was from Admiral Hayes, who had escaped on a troop-
transport before the destruction of Earth.
"This message is for all the surviving humans… we have lost our
home… we have escaped for now, but as we run, the Hymenoptera are
still a major threat. They have come this far, and there is nothing
stopping them from tracking us all down and destroying every last
one of the human race. My suggestion is that we disband. All of us
split up on separate ships, set off in different directions and
hide. They can't find us all, the human race will survive in one way
or another."

Where: Senior staff meeting
When: 15mins later
All the senior staff gathered together. Seymour, who would normally
be locked out of these meetings had got there first and refused to
move from his chair. Phil wasn't too bothered at this moment,
because he knew that Seymour had a lot more command experience than
he had, having this captainship thrown upon him rather suddenly.
"So you've lost you're home-planet. Its not such a big deal is it?"
said Efof, and was astounded by the many death glares he got in the
room.
"Our home planet has been destroyed! How would you like it?!" said
Seymour.
"I coped just fine!" Said Efof happily.
Phil ignored them both and moved on. "Admiral Hayes is wrong, if we
split up we're just in more danger. The Hymenoptera fleet is still
right where we left it, if we don't do something about them now
they'll hunt down every last colony, ship and person!"
"But we tried that, they destroyed all our ships!" said
Johnny. "Even if we pull every ship from every colony we have
together… which isn't much… then we still wont have anything near
the amount needed to fight them."
"The Hymenoptera are still at Earth, all collected in once place.
This is the best chance we have to get them all at once. I say we
jump back in and attack them."
This was when the NSD (Nameless Scientist Dude) stood up.
"Okay here's the plan!" Said NSD. "We use the wormhole drive against
them. If we can get them all through a wormhole, we could send them
to the other side of the galaxy, or somewhere even more nasty."
"But we can't just get them to fly into it!" Said Seymour.
"How about we bake a large cake… and put it in the mouth of the
wormhole…"
"Shut up Efof."
"We use gravitons!" Said NSD. There were blank looks around the
room. "Its simple. We jump into the system, dial a new wormhole in
the middle of their fleet and get a Blue Midget to fire a graviton
beam at the wormhole. The beam will give the wormhole a
gravitational field 10 times stronger than Earth's – pulling all the
Hymenoptera ships into it."
"Good plan." Said Johnny. "But what about the Blue Dwarf. We'll be
pulled into it too!"
"We need another shuttle, to fire an anti-graviton beam at the Blue
Dwarf and any other Blue Dwarf shuttles. This will have the reverse
effect and push us away from the wormhole."
Phil stood up. "That's the best plan so far, but only 2 questions.
Where do we send them too, and who's volunteering to fly the two
shuttles?"
