The Inbound Raven thundered towards the gun emplacement at full
throttle. For a ship not built for speed, Dean was achieveing a good
rate of knots, but the imminent danger posed by the weapons platform
to Alota's team was so great that Dean was pushing the throttle
lever, which already as far into its socket as it could go in the
hopes of getting even more speed out of it.
Mk. 7 who was standing at the back of the cockpit found himself
engulfed in engine coolant as a pipe burst due the pressure the
engines were under.
"You know..." he said "Why is it that all our spacecraft are built
like Sci-Fi TV sets with all the vital pipes and wiring being in the
cockpit...."
"Little more to worry about now Mk. 7!" Dean said, pushing the raven
so hard the bulkheads had begun to creak.
"Just a little?" said Efof "SO...those Hymenoptera interceptors
coming up on the aft aren't anything tp be concerned about then?"
"Nah.." said Dean "Wait a second..WHAT?"
He checked the scanner scope.
"Ahhh for the love of smeg....." he said, his voice taking on a
retiring tone.
