OOC- Stuff

Well as the commander and owner of this RPG I have to make a decision about general chatter in this sim, and basically- Whitewolf said the same this pretty well!
I don't mind a bit of general banter in the BD RPG, because the main thing with this game is to have fun, and hopefully make friends in a friendly atmosphere. But be careful not to over-do it, this month we have already hit a record high number of posts which is more than in the months of April, may, june, july, August and september of last year put together! And it is difficult for some of our members to keep up with the constant supply of e-mails.
We don't want anyone to leave because of this, there hasn't been any harm done and nobody should feel bad about it. Things happen, we have to accept them and move on. Alota, we don't want you to leave- your posts have been good ones and you seem to have enjoyed the Blue Dwarf so far, and nobody is pointing the finger at you.
Whitewolf suggested an other newsgroup to be set up for general BD discussions and questions, I don't mind if someone sets something like this up, or even a chatroom where players can meet and discuss joint-posts or sub-storylines together.
We do have a BD chatroom from egroups but I don't think its ever been used. The address is http://www.egroups.com/chat/JMC_Blue_Dwarf any members can use this whenever they want.
The Blue Dwarf is currently heading back to the Jupiter mining corporation HQ. When we get there we should hopefully have a crew-shuffle, and promotions may be given out (don't ask for a raise yet!). The future of the Captaincy of the Blue Dwarf is still unclear to the crew, and this may cause a bit of friction onboard.
The new edition of the BD Times is out now, just go to our website and click on BD Times.

----- ----------------------------------------------------------------------OT/NRPG(Off Topic/Non Role Playing Game) - Now, take care there, Stewie! Your walking into flame-bait territory here. Tara And Alota are newbies, just as you were earlier to BD. Their likely going to step on a few peoples toes just like you stepped on few around here. We should give them time to adjust. I'm sure they'll start churning out quality in character game posts if we give them thier bit of time. I'm not saying your criticism isn't valid. But, I do wish to point out to you that Tara and Alota could just as easily apply your gripe you make about their posts to your 'store advertisment' posts too. And I quite sure every player has one gripe or another about other players posting styles around here. And No, I don't think everyone of them should be aired publicly like dirty laundry, Either! The intent the rpg should be for everyone to have fun. I've noticed we recently lost a few newbies. Perhaps, because they didn't know how to fit in, or perhaps it was because we lack a decent tutorial. I don't know the reasons, myself. But, I certainly don't want anyone here to feel they were drove out, because they felt someone was antagonizing them. That's why it's time to take a moment to highlight this suggestion up right now, which I hope, may be a possible solution for the sticky situation we gotten into here. Back in the 'old' days when I used to run my own BBS(Bulletin Board System). (This was before the internet was a mainstream thing, in the mid '80s). I used to host each of my several RPG's with a another message group that was specifically devoted to the RPG's discussion and chatter. Hence, for my TFT World of Cendri RPG, I had a message group for 'World Of Cendri' where strictly RPG posts were made and another for 'World of Cendri - Discussion' where all the 'player to gamemaster' questions about the game were aired, and general natter of player to player disussion of things related to the game was posted. I think we could easily do the same for the Blue Dwarf RPG, And it should satisfy both crowds of people! What does everybody think? Oh, and remember, all this is just in my humble opinion(IMHO), I'm not speaking as a moderator, superior or anything like that. - Tim/White Wolf The continuing adventures of the Blue Dwarf...www.geocities.com/bluedwarf2000To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to:JMC_Blue_Dwarf-unsubscribe@egroups.com
