Dimension #23:Green Dwarf was a blazing inferno,falling through space
unpiloted,and falling apart every second.Inside the ship,it was a
scene of terror.Hundreds of seperate fires blazed,burning everything
in sight,terrified crew members ran for their lives,screaming,and
attempting to make an escape with the few starbug's that hadn't
already been completely destroyed.Green Dwarf had been suddenly and
unexpectedly attacked by a mighty army of thousands of fearsome
aliens,with technology millions of years ahead of the human race,the
invaders were already firing huge,powerful miissiles towards the
eart,causing enourmous devestation below.As all this was going on,the
jail deck was infested with prisoners,running free,basking in their
newfound freedom.Among them was a lowly criminal named Jack Baily,an
alternate version of our universes John Baily.He was just one of many
millions of variations spread throughout infinite realities.Like
John,he was quite tall,with a beard(although Jack's was wild and
unkempt).He had been a prisoner for five years,after being found
guilty of murder on 365 counts.Jack had one eye,due to an unfortunate
incident involving running with scissors."I'M FREE!!"he screamed at
the top of his voice.He wasn't the only one screaming this.The deck
was filled with echos of "I'M FREE!!",or"YESSSS!!!".There was only one
small problem.The walls were on fire and explosions were going off
everywhere Jack looked.But then he saw it,through the flames.A
spaceship.Jack let out a scream of delight so loud,it caused part of
the roof to collapse,missing Jack by inches.
The spaceship in questio was a prototype,from the science labs,called
the "Starhopper".Using newly discovered techology,it had the power to
cross dimensions easily.Obviously,it was a massive scientific
breakthrough,and had been kept under tight security.It wasn't meant to
be flown untill it's demonstration the following week.Jack Baily
jumped into the cockpit with some enthusiasm,and turned on the
engines."Let's see what this baby can do"he said to himself.He blasted
through the hangar doors,and made his way to freedom.
And then,he saw a large,red button in the middle of the control
panel.Being curious,he decided to try it out,just to see wha it
did...There was a low rumbling,a momentary flash,and the ship was
nowhere to be seen.
