Who:- Jay, Callum, Hymenoptera guards
Where:- The Village.
When:- Half an hour after the last post.
Callum shuffled his feet. To be fair, he was embarrassed to be around Jay.
"I never asked IF you would help us, I told you you would!" he heard Jay
shouting up ahead, as he spoke with the head of the settlement.
The settlers were a bizarre race, known as "Cyclo-snakes" and were all a
kind of large, pink snakes with one eyes who unlike most snakes, had legs
and wore trousers. "One-eyed trouser snakes" is how Callum had described
them.
"FINE!" Jay yelled in response to something the head-snake had said.
"If you won't help us voluntarily you will help us under force!"
He tunred to the hymenoptera guards, "Steal their equipment and crush this
village!!"
Callum heard screams, and watched as the hymenoptera burst into the
buildings, re-emerging with over-loaded trolleys full of supplies, shuttle
parts and tools, tossing aside anyone who tried to stop them.
Callum watch in horror, as the bugs launched their acid at buildings around
the village, engulfing them in flames.
HE'd had enough.
"JAY!" he yelled running over to his superior, "YOUVE GOT TO STOP THIS!!
THIS ISNT THE WAY WE DO THINGS!!"
"Then is it any wonder our race are still so backward in comparison to the
other species in this universe?!" Jay replied
"Backward? You call being in touch with our moral's BACKWARD?!"
Jay stared at Callum, anger in his eyes.
"Did you just talk BACK to me?" he clenched his fists.
"JAY! WHATS GOTTEN INTO YOU? STOP THIS MADNESS?! WHAT WOULD ALOTA
THINK?....WHAT WOULD VANESSA THINK?!"
"Cease the attack!" Jay ordered the bugs. "We've got what we need lets
go...."
Callums words had somehow brought Jay to his senses, mentioning how his
wife, or his late sister would have felt about everything had appealed to
Jay's "better nature".
"Thank you!" Callum said breathing a sigh of relief.
"Dont thank me...." Jay said "If you hadn't stopped me these pathetic
creatures would all be dead and NOT closing in on us with plasma rifles..."
Callum looked around, the villagers were coming toward them fast.
The two bugs scurried over, and lifted Jay and Callum onto their backs,
their wings extended from beneath their hard shells and they took to the
air, carrying cargo-net's full of equipment beneath them.
Callum looked back at the half-ruined village, and back at Jay.
"I hope your happy Chrysler!" he said, but over the buzzing of the bug's
wings, his words went unheard.
