when:Several months before part 1
where:Earth,onboard blue dwarf
Previously:It was 11.10pm and guard John Baily was going to bed after
another hard night shift,he noticed it was eerily quiet on the ship
and was then met by a rather scared-looking skutter.The skutter
seemed to be trying to warn him of something.Then,they saw something
lurching towards them,something terrifying.It let out a slow,loud
roar.
Earth,several months earlier:The scientist shook his head in
disbelief,he seemed unable to speek and so just stood there in a mix
of excitement and horror for quite some time.What had he created?Had
it really been a good idea?Slowly,he bent down to examine the
contents of the misty tank.He couldn't believe it.Finally,after years
of trying and failing,he had achived his life-long dream.Suspended
inside the tank was a slimy creature,about half the size of a
man,curled up in a ball.It's arms and legs were thin and scrawny,yet
his hands were large,with razor-sharp claws on the end.Also,it's
strong feet meant that it could easily run three times quicker than
the fastest human..It's face was wrinkly,crumpled,and sneering.It had
a thousand pointed teeth,sharper even than his mighty claws.The
scientist had created his very own mutant.He was already imagining
the enourmous fame and fortune this strange creature would bring
him.He could tame it himself.It would be fantastic.He was wrong.
One week later,when police inspected the laboratory prior to the
mysterious dissapearence of scientist doctor Jack Doyle,they found
him murdered,and slime all over the lab A tank had been smashed,,the
lab was ruined.All the creature knew was to kill.It had already
murdered thousands more before they captured it,and banished it from
Earth on a pod.Several months later,it arrived on the blue dwarf
spaceship,where he found hundreds of humans on board to indulge his
passion.Eventually,only one remained.Slowly,the evil-looking monster-
type-thing approached the last survivor with some speed.The beast let
out a long,loud roar.
