not again...
who: uhh... people
when: during the party
where: the party, parrotts
**This is a JP by Cassy (Jenny) and Chris (Chris)**
Jenny walked into parrotts, looking for an empty table.
"hey! jenny!" came Seymours voice, she could feel herself go slightly
red at the thought
of him, and turned away from him. "I don't really want to talk to you
today" she said,
and began to walk away, looking at her feet.
"oh, sorry" she said, bumping into someone. looking up, she realised
who it was, "oh, hi
chris, hows things?" she asked.
"Hi!" said Chris over the noise that had consumed parrots, "not so
bad, not so bad.
Where've ya been recently? Not seen you around since I got back"
"oh, i've been uhh..." she began, her mind slowing down to a crawl.
"busy" she managed,
feebly.
'damn' she thought to herself.
She stood there, still looking slightly down, not wanting to make eye
contact with
anyone, but hearing Chris' voice again after the timeline mess ups
made her want to look
at him, which she did, reluctantly. She instinctively smiled when she
saw him.
"You dont look too bright" he commented, "Anything up?" he asked,
still not returning to
the memories of the timeline mess ups.
"ahh nothing, i'm ok. just got alot on my mind." she said, truthfully,
hoping that would
deter chris. "and if you don't mind i'd rather not talk about it" she
added, just to be
sure.
"If you say so...." he trailed off, looking to the bar. "Drink?" he asked.
"yeah please" she said, forgetting about her last run in with
alcohol. "i'll just have
a krony thanks love" she said, more memories of the other timeline
were forcing their way
through.
He raised an eyebrow at the last comment, but snapped out of it, and
ordered a krony and
a Budweiser. He took the drinks back down to a table that Jenny had
chosen.
She sat at the table, staring at the pint for a few minutes, ignoring
anything that was
said around her. She was completely lost in thought.
"You sure you're ok hon'?" he asked...."did I just..?"
This last comment snapped her out of it, "yeah... you did..." she said
slowly. "How much
have i drunk?" she asked, genuinely unsure about herself. She
shrugged it off, and
downed half her drink on one. After that, she instead found herself
staring intently at
Chris' eyes, memories flooding through her mind. "I feel like i've
known you for years"
she said, "but i've only been on this ship for a few months" she
added, trying to get her
head round the feelings and thoughts that were flowing through her.
"You know? I could've sworn the same" said Chris, feeling unsure of
himself.
"its a bit busy in here, you wanna go for a walk?" she asked,
finishing her pint.
"yeah sure" said Chris, finishing his budweiser before exiting
parrots, Jenny close
behind him.
Walking down towards the promenade, Jenny had the strangest urge to
grab Chris' arm, but
she resisted it, pushing it to the side as some crazy reaction to what
had happened with
seymour. "i really do feel like i lov.... i've known you for years"
she said, going red
at how close she was to the slip up of the century. "but... i know
its impossible" she
added. As they walked, she could feel herself going red, and her
heartbeat increasing.
"scuse me a sec" she said, stopping next to a pillar, and leaning
against it, breathing
deeply.
"Are you ok? looks like a trip to the Doc wouldnt do you so bad" he
said...."And what did
you say a minute ago? sorry if i'm being thicker than the offspring of
a village idiot
and a TV weather girl....but to me it sounded awfully like I lov..."
he trailed off.
"slip of the tongue" she said quickly. "and i'll be ok after a good
nights sleep" she
said, "walk me to my room?" she asked sweetly, smiling.
"sure thing" said Chris, all of a sudden being tugged along the
corridor by Jenny, "
loosen yer grip tige...tig...tigger...don't you just love winnie the
pooh?"
"yeah, who doesn't?" she said, slightly confused at the randomness of
that comment. "
where did that come from?" she asked.
"oh I was just....channel flicking and I saw it earlier....great
program....."
"yeah, i spose it is" she said, sighing and finding herself clinging
to his arm. She
jumped away "sorry... i don't know where that came from either..."
"Tigger?" he said sarcastically.
she couldn't help but giggle, and found herself once more clinging to
his arm. "hope you
don't mind, this just feels.... natural...." she said.
He raised an eyebrow to the last word of the sentence, but made no
fuss and continued
walking....they eventually reached her quarters. "The advantages of
being in security and
navigation" he muttered to himself, typing in the code for her door.
"so.... you can get into anyones room?" she asked, feeling slightly
insecure at this.
"anyway, its late, i should get to bed... unless you want a drink or
something?" she
suggested.
"A quick one....you have access to all the room codes too you know,
remember you're in
security...oh..budweiser please" he asked her politely.
"good point" she said, forgetting it. "catch" she said, tossing a
bottle to the door. "
you can come in you know" she said, "make yourself at home" she added,
opening her own
bottle of bud.
Chris sat on the sofa and looked around the room, "nice living" he
said...."Why arent my
quarters as nice as this?"
She smiled at him. "i was owed a favour by someone high up" she said,
truthfully. "
thought i might as well take advantage of it" she added, sitting next
to him.
"fair enough....so..er...i'll leave you to it shall I" asked Chris
she smiled and felt herself instinctively move closer to him, taking
a sip of beer. "i
can't think of anything better to do with these favours" she said,
sighing loudly when
she'd finished. "i'm getting a strange feeling of deja-vu sitting
here with you" she
said, leaning against him.
"join the club..." he began, drifting off.
She felt his arm around her, but didn't do anything about it, just
sighed contently, and
closed her eyes. Images of their life in the different timeline
floated in front of her,
revealing why she was feeling like this now.
Chris' morals then kicked in..."Shit what am I doing?" he exclaimed,
pointing frantically
at the ring on his finger..."I'm getting married Jen!"
She snapped out of it, and looked at the ring, and sighed. "but...
whats all this i
remember.... about us?" she asked, getting really confused.
"Knowing this ship it could be anything from the baked potato's are
burning to the ship
being attacked by the looney toons"
She laughed. "do you get that often?" she asked, trying to control
herself.
"along the lines" he replied.
"are you serious?" she asked, looking him square in the eyes.
"Come on....this is the blue dwarf we're talking about...course I'm
smegging serious!" he
said, all of a sudden flinching
"are you ok?" she asked
"yeah fine....something in my eye that's all" he replied
"oh?" she said, looking in his eye, seeing as she was already looking
in that area. "i
can't see anything" she said.
"it's gone now" he said, blinking a couple of times before staring
back into her eyes.
She couldn't help but continue staring into his eye, she felt herself
move closer, then
pulled away. "sorry, didn't mean to do that" she said, blushing heavily.
"Dont worry....." he said, "i get used to it" he finished, smirking.
she smiled at this, and looked at him again. "you want another?" she
said, holding up
her empty bottle.
"Erm...i really should be making tracks, but hell, one more never hurt
anyone, sure" he
said.
she got up, and opened the fridge, removing two more bottles from it,
and cracking them
open on the worktop. "here" she said, passing one to him, and
collapsing next to him
again.
"ta" he said. closing his eyes briefly and leaning back.
She sat and watched him, a powerful thought of deja-vu spread through
her, making her
want to hug him, too powerful for her to keep at bay. Her arms flew
around him, but only
for a second, as she recoiled again, going bright red. She apologised
frantically. "
sorry, i don't know what came over me" she said
"well...nothing sadly" said Chris,
"What am I saying?" he muttered to himself.
"sorry?" she said, "did i hear you right?"
"i dunno, hmm, nice perfume by the way"
"thanks, its my favourite" she said, smiling.
"what is it?" he asked.
"its chanel number 5" she said, "i found the formula to it years ago,
and kept it for
myself" she added, smiling.
"don't blame you the way you smell" he smiled and winked at her, then
caught sight of his
ring again. "Anyways I should really be going now....." he said,
getting up rather
hastily.
"awww, ok, if you must. it's been fun, we'll have to do it again" she
said, smiling and
getting up to let him out.
She opened it for him, and watched him walk passed, sneaking in a
quick peck on his cheek
before he left. "sorry" she said, turning away, "something is really
wrong with me
tonight"
"if you say so" he said, winking and beginning to leave the room...
"i can't take this any more!" she shouted, grabbing chris, and pulling
him back into the
room, kissing him as if they'd been together for years.
Suddenly the feelings of the timeline screw ups came back to him, he
moved back into the
room, closing the door behind him.
They scrambled over each other, falling over the back of the sofa.
"hello? anyone here?" came Seymours voice through the still ajar door.
Being as he was Seymour, he was super-nosy, so he jsut shoved the door
open anyway. And
stared motionless at the pair lying on the sofa.
"uhh...." Jenny said, going bright red, "hi?" she tried.
"yeah, i think that should do it" she said, scrambling back to her
feet, and adjusting
her top haphazardly. "what are you doing here anyway?" she asked seymour.
"ooh, i'm good at fixing sofa's" seymour said, taking a few more steps
into the room.
"It's done now dude" said Chris, flicking his hair back.
"yeah, can you come back in the morning? i'm rather tired now" Jenny
said, stretching,
getting in seymours way
"Jenny....why don't you have a bra on?" asked Seymour as Jenny went
red as a tomato
again.
"what?" she said, looking down instinctively, before realising she
could feel it. "but i
do" she said. going even redder.
"if you've got nothing better to do but taunt me, can it not wait till
the morning?" she
almost shouted, pushing him out of her room, closing the door behind him.
"Oh Jen...if anyone asks...I was so drunk I didnt know what I was
doing...so I slept on
the sofa agreed?" Chris asked.
"yeah, agreed" she said, turning her attention back to him.
"Holly? Lock the door to ALL codes please"
"authorisation dude?"
Chris sighed. "harrisc06041964"
"Consider it done" said Holly, vanishing from the monitor.
"Now, where were we?" he said quietly.
"i believe it was..." she began, moving him back onto the sofa.
"here" she finished,
kissing him again.
He kissed her back. "lets find out what I've been missing all this
time shall we...?"
