*ACTION* death of a world

Who: ???Where: The Hymonpteria home world                                                                           When: approximately three weeks ago
 
He stared out the window at the large, mainly black planet which sat there, defenseless in front of him. Around this planet a fleet of Hymonptria ship tried to fight of the other ships which made up the invasion fleet. He watched as the helpless insects were squashed by the superior warships of his people, and as he watched he almost felt sorry for them. It was then that he got the signal, the Hymonpterian defenses were weak enough for the final attack. To him this only meant one thing, his death! However this would not stop him. all his life he had been a creature of duty, serving the alliance in what ever way they asked, and now he would serve them in death. Bringing his one-man ship into range of the planet he locked the weapon onto the planet and fired!
The ship shuddered under the sheer power of the weapon as an pure anti-proton beam was fired into the planet. He could not believe its effect. Even from his high orbit he could see the planets landscape change. Within seconds the weapon had increased the surface temperature by 800 degrees and had polluted the atmosphere with tachyon radiation. He tried to imagine the 20 billion insects on that planet choacking to death in the stuff. He didn't have long to think about it though before the oceans evaporated, along with the polar ice caps which by this time had melted. all he had to do now was watch as the planet was gripped in the middle of one huge earthquake. The planet surface being torn as hundreds of volcanoes erupted.
He watched as this happened but not for long as the weapon overloaded his ship and it too, like the the planet, exploded into rubble!
 
OOC- well, this is the opening post of the new story, i'll be posting a follow up soon but until then all characters can carry on with the celebrations, or the department heads can meet in the briefing room. And please try to include the newbies in any posting....  and remember DO NOT TAG this post since no-one on the BD knows that this has happened
