"so." said Jack, getting himself up. "shall we leave this till later?
we have a ship to destroy" he said, grabbing john by the arm and
pulling him away from phil, Amber did the same with phil.
"well, that was unexpected" Dante said, being one of the many that
didn't know about John and Ambers marriage. Eric merely walked along
behind them, rubbing his face. "remind me in future not to walk into
posts" he said.
"well then, you might want to stop walking in that direction" Dante
prompted, Eric stopped, mere inches away from walking into another
post. "thanks" he said.
----Later, at the central core----
"wow, nice place" Jack said, looking at the gloom around them, "has
anyone been in here ever?" he asked, looking at the total lack of
movement in the entire place. The door at the other end of the room
opened, letting Efof, Mk.6 and the rest of their group in.
"ok! good timing, lets get to work!" eric said, taking some of the
explosives from Dante.
What seemed like an eternity later, they all piled out of the ship,
the timer on the explosives counting down.
"come on! we've gotta get out of here!" Amber said, tugging at phil,
who had become locked in a staring match with john, Jack grabbed john
and together they got everyone out.
"Blue Dwarf!" Jack said over the radio, "This is Jack, we need to get
the hell out of here, we have ten minutes before the place blows."
"roger that" came back a slightly distorted voice.
Jack stopped and dropped his radio, ahead he could see Melissa being
cornered by a hymenoptera warrior "JACK!! HELP!!" she called to him,
tears falling down her face. Jack yelled as the bug impaled Melissa
on a blade of some kind. she slumped into his arms as the bug vanished.
"No..." he said, holding her head up. "stay with me, you'll be fine"
he pleaded, he could feel tears falling down his own face, and his
heart racing.
"no.... it's too late for me..." she said. "take care of yourself"
she managed, before she ceased to move. Jack hugged her, crying like
he'd never done before. "I love you" he murmered, before being
snapped out of it by John, who pulled him away.
"Come on bro! it's just the ship!" he said, dragging Jack away.
On the bug, Jack looked at his watch, and then out of the window.
"what the smeg? it should've blown by now!" he exclaimed as the timer
ran out on the bombs, but didn't go boom.
"Blue dwarf!" Jack shouted through the radio "we have a problem, the
bombs didn't go!" he added.
"Return to the dwarf team, we have operational weapons turrets!" came
Alota's voice back. "Commencing bombardment" she said, all the
turrets on the 'dwarf opened fire on the EH, explosions rocked the
ship, sending it into a free spin.
"target the CPU!" Dante and eric said simultaneously, just in time to
see a full salvo ripple through the centre of the ship, setting off
the explosives. Shards of the ship flew left right and centre,
disappearing as they left the range of the light bee's.

Everything slowly faded away, and a large claxon rang through the
ship, signalling the end of the 'Starship-Wars' event. Mike Hunt
stood next to ALota in the drive room, watching the fireworks. "good
job captain, we have enough footage for the show, congratulations.
we'll let you know of your score and rankings when we review the
battles" he said, walking off slowly.
"All senior officers to the briefing room" Alota said over the
shipwide tannoy, calling the department heads together, while everyone
else began to celebrate in Parrotts.
Everyone else scramled for seats, to see some entertainment, all hands
holding a drink of some sort, alcoholic or not, getting ready for some
celebrations.
