Efof "Room 101"

Who: Efof, Mk6 and John Smith
Where: On the Event Horizon holoship

"What the SMEG is THAT supposed to be?!", cried Efof.
Smith twisted his head to see what he was pointing at.
Dead ahead of them was a huge authentic 1984-style Big Brother
propaganda poster, complete with freaky eyes that follow you across
the room.
Every bit of colour drained from Smith's face and his knees began to
knock together.

"Let me guess…" said Mk6. "That's your worst nightmare?" He as
talking to John Smith.
John shivered. "I don't like authority, people telling you what to
do…"
Efof whispered to MK6. "What is it?"
"Its from a book, 1984. It's about a society where the government
controls everything, you can't hide from it, Big Brother is
everywhere…"
"Ah like the smell of MP's dirty underwear?"
"Erm… no. Big Brother tries to even control the past, by changing
certain events and denying some things ever happened…"
"Like the effect of the quadruple-strength Tequilla Sunrise they
serve on Sundays in Parrotts?" asked Efof.
"NO! Efof listen! Havn't you read the book?"
Efof shrugged and made a "pfft" noise like he couldn't be
bothered. "I'm waiting for the film."
"There IS a film!"
"Pfft. I'm waiting for the technology to zap it straight to my head"
"That technology exists!"
"Pfft. But you have to go all the way to the shops…!"
An army of guards marched up to them and interrogated them. "We are
the thought police, you are under arrest for having conflicting
thoughts."
"How do you know what I'm thinking?" Asked Efof, talking back to the
guards.
"SILENCE! We are from the ministry of peace, how dare you talk to us
like that?!"
John and MK6 nudged Efof. "Don't piss these people off Efof, they
mean business!"
"Pfft!" Said Efof. "So you want to know what I'm thinking?" Asked
Efof to the closest guard. "I'm thinking of clobbering you with the
blunt end of this hologun… oh look, I'm actually doing it! Is that a
thought crime or a normal crime?"
The guard fell backwards from Efof's whack. The other guards
surrounded him then pointed to a nearby camera.
"Stop, Big Brother is watching everything!"
"Yeah yeah, so Big Brother's watching this then?" Efof pulled a
moony to the camera, everyone gasped.
"How dare you?!! Big Brother provides your lifestyle, and protects
you from the hated Goldstein…"
There were boo's and hisses at the mention of Goldstein's name. John
Smith and Mk6 felt the hate enough to almost join in.
A door opened up labelled "room 101". The guards started pulling
John Smith towards it.
Efof reached for his hologun. "I think I'm going to have a thought
crime again…" He shot the thought policeman who was restraining John
and urged him to fight.
"Come on John, shoot them!"
"Easy for you to say, this is my worst fear! And besides, you don't
know what happens at the end of the book in room 101!"
"What? You meet Paul Merton? Big whoop!"
"No, the torture!"
Efof gulped. "Ah right…"
John plucked up some courage and opened fire on the thought police.
In only seconds their holo-matrix's were all being deleted. But the
door to Room 101 remained.
Efof took a peek in, and John stiffened up with fear. He pulled Efof
back.
"No! Don't go in!"
"Why?"
"Its Room 101!"
"I told you, I'm not scared of Paul Merton!"
"No, 1984 dummy! Not some crappy TV show!" Said John.
MK6 looked through the door too. "Okay, you'd better get rid of
those fears because this is it. This is the central control column
where we need to set up the explosives."
"You mean… I have to go in?" Said Smith.
Efof and MK6 nodded.
