Boarding Party

Who:- Jay, Navigation department pilots, flight engineers and space traffic
control staff.
Where:- Navigation Deck briefing room
When:- Why even ask that question?
"Oh..and Kara, I'm taking you out of the Helm rota for the next few weeks,
placing you on shuttle duty instead. Dean, you'll be in charge of the night
shift over the next few weeks" Jay said.
The staff nodded. Department meetings weren't the most exciting part of the
job as a space corps pilot, but hell, it was one of the best paid jobs in
the Corps. so they were all happy to put up with the odd briefing now and
again.
"Don't forget, its the annual personnel and department reviews this month.
The captain and I will interview you all individually and she'll be
inspecting the deck, and I want us to beat Keto and the medibay if noone
else so lets pull out all the stops. Dean no flying for you til the reviews
over."
"Why?" asked Dean.
"Thats why" said Jay, pointing out of the window overlooking one of the
landing bays where the smoking remains of a recently crashed Starbug lay.
"Oh that"
"Wheres Efof anyway? I'm gonna have to go through all of this with him
later..."
"Seymour made him help him with something..."
"I see...I'll have words with him later...and Keats?!"
"YEAH?!" came two voices in unison
"Why are there two of you?!"
Both Keat's shrugged and rocked back in their chairs, toppling to the
ground.
Jay shook his head. Of all the pilots in the space corp...why did he end up
with the biggest bunch of rejects in the known galaxy. "Dismissed..." he
said, giving up.
The crew got up and headed for the doors, onto the landing deck.
As Jay entered the warning claxon sounded, to warn that the hangar doors
were opening, the forcefield poowered up, to hold in the atmosphere and the
huge doors hissed, then opened.
"What the hell?!" Jay asked no-one in particular. "Holly, who's coming in? I
haven't authorised any landings while the control decks unattended!"
"I don't know Jay" replied Holly "Theres nothing on sensors"
"What?!"
He soon got his answer, the Valkyrie a ship, that has not flown in years
appeared from nowhere, at the hangar door, spiralling out of control,
smoking from its tail, and hit the hangar floor, it skidded toward where jay
and the crew were standing, just missing hitting Amber who, using her GELF
enhanced reflexes leapt upwards out of the way, landing on the overhead
hanging walkway, at least 2 stories up. Jay pushed Dean and Kara aside then
dived out of the way himself as the Valkyrie skidded into where he had been
standing seconds before, and collided with the wall.
"GET SOME FIRE EXTINGUISHERS OVER HERE!" Jay ordered, "DEAN HELP ME GET
WHOEVERS IN THERE OUT!"
They both ran over to the ship, but the hatch opened on its own, the Pilot
climbed out.
"KAYN!?" Jay asked, shocked. "KAYN BESTROM?!"
"Jay?!" Kayn asked, looking at Jay "Why arent you out in the fight? You;re
my best pilot I need you out there!..and wait..if your in here who's flying
the Phoenix?!"
"What are you talking about?! What fight?!"
Jay looked out beyond the hangar doors, there was nothing there, Kayn and
the Valkyries had materilaised inside the hanger, when they came aboard the
ship...but Kayn seememd able to see something the rest of them couldnt.
The claxon sounded again.
"Something else is coming in!" Amber yelled from her position above everyone
else.
This time it was the Phoenix, battered and heavily damaged. Jay glanced over
to where he had parked it earlier that day, it was STILL there.
"What the smeg is going on?!"
the Phoenix landed perfectly, despite the damage to its landing systems and
Jay Chrysler and Chris Zodar climbed out, carrying a wounded Vanessa
Chrysler between them. She wasnt wearing a Blue Dwarf uniform,. but a Red
Dwarf one.
"Dear god no..." Jay muttered
"What?!" asked Dean "Whats happening?!"
"I remember this! It happened around years ago!"
Several starbug along with some blue midgets and the space eagle came in to
land, landing in spaces already occupied by shuttles, and passing through
them as if they weren't there.
"We ran across the Red Dwarf!" said Jay "Only it wasn't OUR Red Dwarf...they
attacked us, we lost the dogfight and they boarded us...Vanessa over there
was my sisters counterpart, Zodar and I saved her...I couldnt face to lose
her again."
"Did you just say they boarded us?!"
"Yes...SMEG! EVERYONE OUT!!!"
Several more shuttles joined the Blue Dwarf ships that had landed, these
emblazoned with a variation of the Red Dwarf logo. One in particular looked
more menacing than the others. The hatch opened and a figure stepped out,
carrying a Katana.
Jay recognised the face it was his own. Evil Jay had returned.
