**Action** It's Just a Matter of Time

Who: Dean, Seymour, Jay, Phil, Alota,
Where: Engineering
When: That could be a very good question.

The large cobalt deep space mining vessel drifted slowly through the
Border Colonies. It was, quite ironically one of the best equipped
vessels in the JMC's fleet. It is ironic because the crew are not
famous for their sanity or brains. Throughout its time, the Blue Dwarf
had been fitted with a substantially sized missile launcher and more
recently a wormhole drive, the only one of its kind in this universe.
Not much was known about the device and its long term effects,
something was bound to happen sooner or later that would go unnoticed
by the intelligently challenged crew.
The crew were packed into Parrotts celebrating their recent AR
training mission. There was so many people that they spilled out onto
the Promenade and along the length of the large shopping arcade. Efof
was so busy, all four arms were a blur.
"It was never this busy on Ffion. We were always really relaxed." He
happily informed Jay, Phil, Dean and a few other people who had
managed to get seats at the bar.
"Efof, no one cares about Ffion. They all want to hear about how I
heroically sacrificed my own life saving that of Jay Chrysler's in the
training simulation." Seymour said boldly, striking a look at me I'm
amazing pose, somewhere in the back of the crowd a woman swooned, but
no one else was particularly bothered by the Royal Ambassadors antics.
--- Engineering ---
A series of events was occurring in the unattended Engineering Bay.
Deep inside the wormhole drive there was an increase of power that
overloaded one of the fuses, causing a minuscule resistor to overload
and pop out of existence in a most spectacular way. This in turn
caused a tiny circuit board fizzled, crackled and spluttered out of
life, sadly, the whole thing was not seen by a single living soul. The
repercussions of this series of events was for a single red warning
light to blink repeatedly on a console in the corner of the room, no
loud alarms, no awoogas, just a single flashing red warning light that
no one was around to see.
--- Parrotts Bar ---
Phil gulped at his beer and finished off the last of the pint slamming
the glass down on the bar. He gagged and pulled a face like he had
just eaten a four week old sour lemon.
"Whats wrong Phil? Can't handle your drink?" Jay said.
"It's stale, it tastes like it's about three years old!" Phil
exclaimed. It was then that several other people around the room
joined in with a chorus of spluttering drinks. Looking around the room
it was then that Phil noticed the decor of Parrotts had changed, the
walls were dirtier and the paint was peeling, as well as this, the
date on the electronic display read 2108. Jay noticed where he was
looking.
"It didn't just taste like it was three years old, it was three years
old." Jay said.
"Parrotts has shifted in time?" Dean asked.
"So it would seem...." Jay responded in a perplexed way.
--- Drive Room ---
Captain Alota Chrysler sat in the large comfy chair. Large, because it
had been modified for a certain furry ex captain and the J.M.C were
too stingy to get a new one. Something small, cute and furry appeared
in Alota's lap.
"A Wibble? Where did this come from, we got rid of them all..." More
Wibbles started popping up around the Drive Room. Alota reached out to
touch the small furry critter, but her hand passed right through it.
It chirruped happily.
"Alota honey," Jays voice came over the comms "We have a problem in
Parrotts... It seems we are three years ahead of the rest of the
ship."
"The Wibble infestation is back in the Drive Room." The Captain replied.
"Have you checked a calender?" Phil piped in. Sure enough, looking at
a digital readout of the date, it displayed the past.
<Tag Everyone!>
OOC - Okay people, post your reactions to this minor problem. The
whole ship is effected by these time slips. Characters you interact
with from other time periods can speak and interact with you, but are
not tangible (they are like ghosts). Oh, one more thing, only time
periods affecting the Dwarf, no rampaging Nazis or anything like
that (I have just been prodded by Onion to say that rampaging soviet's
are ok, think back to Cerebrum's Stalin sub plot).
OOC2 - Wow, my own action plot. I've always wanted to do this :D
