Emergency Procedures
Where: Armoury
Who: Eric
Eric was scratching his head, poring through pages upon pages of
computer documents.
'That's funny' he thought to himself.
"Holly." Eric called out. "I need to let Phil know something."
"He's busy now, but I can patch you through."
"Thanks Hol." Eric said.
Phil's face appeared on the screen. "We're a little busy."
"Just a couple of quick points sir. One, I'm opening up the armoury
and leaving my assistant, Tony Frederickson, to guard it. Secondly,
according to Space Corps Directive Three-One-Two point B, in an
emergency like this, with no captain, the Security Officer takes on
the Captain's duties. It's like Martial Law really."
"Well, that doesn't really help us too much, does it Mr Lustbader."
"Oh, and one more thing, sir."
"Make it quick! I've just recieved major news!"
"I'm a trained and experienced PI - I have dealt with many problems
like this before - I request a small taskforce that I can lead to
track down and deal with this creature."
"Sure - grab anyone who wants to go with you." Phil said
quickly. "Out!"
Eric left his assistant orders to hand out weapons to anyone who
wants them, and then cracked his knuckles in anticipation of getting
back to what he loves best.
* * * * * * *
First Eric spoke to Jack. Speaking to him in quiet tones, Jack
agreed to join the taskforce. Then, they found Amber and Keats, who
offered assistance, then Dante and finally Johnny.
Eric handed them objects - his own invention, which were to be added
to various weapons, to help the weapons lock in on the quick moving
Hypmontera.
"Okay, I've got a map of the first three scenes." Keats said while
getting a black marker from his jacket pocket. "And here are the
other's we know about."
"Hmm," Eric mused over them, "I can't see any pattern in them, and I
doubt I'm the first to try."
"I think maybe we should see the sites first-hand, and try and check
to see if we can find where the bug is hiding out from those
places." Amber said.
"Good thinking." Eric agreed. "Maybe there is some place central to
all these sites."
"Or maybe there's something special about all of the sites," added
Johnny, "I mean, there could even be bug eggs at all of the scenes,
and right now the mother is just protecting them."
