Actionette- "Making the escape"

Who: Everyone in the Phoenix, which should be Jay, Amber, Chris
Harris, CK, Efof and Dean
Where: The Phoenix
CK came out of the small cargo hold of the Phoenix, a small amount of
alcohol had been stored here, most of it was tethered to the hull or
ready to be towed behind.
"Its all smegging ALCOPOP!" He repeated for the benefit of everyone
else in the cockpit. He showed the scans of the containers.
"Bastards!" Said Jay.
"Fantastic!" Said Efof, cracking open a VK apple.
"Big jesse!" said Jay, watching Efof down the fizzy drink.
Jay piloted the Phoenix around the hull of the pirate ship, looking
for Phil and McJohn, the last team members missing.
"There they are!" Shouted Efof excitedly, jumping up and down
spilling sticky alcopop everywhere. He pointed to a spacesuited man
walking the Pirate ship hull. Another one was just climbing out of an
airlock with a detonator in his hand.
"Are you sure its them?" Dean asked squinting.
McJohn jumped from the hull and floated in space directly towards
them, eventually planting himself armsstretched on the Phoenix's
windscreen. He peered through his spacesuit through the window at
them, Efof waved.
Jay put the windscreen wipers on for a laugh which caught McJohn's
face. He annoydly gave Jay the finger then worked his way around the
ship to the airlock in the back.
Jay swooped the Phoenix lower for Phil to climb aboard and enter
through the airlock. As one airlock was open, a small laser-rifle
blast cut through the 1ply hull and smashed Efof's VK apple. "OOh!"
He said in shock, and quickly grabbed another one to block the small
hole in the hull with one hand, whilst cracking open another with his
3rd and 4th hands.
McJohn and Phil entered the cockpit and removed their suits.
"They're firing on us!" said Dean, checking the sensor panel.
Jay spun the Phoenix around and armed the forward mounted machinegun
cannons. One pirate was stood on the hull firing at them, Jay
targetted him and fired, filling him and the hull around him with
holes.
Another team of pirates came out of the airlock that Phil and McJohn
came from.
"Back away and leave this to me!" Said Phil, detonating the
explosives he had left. Pirates flew into space in all directions,
and the hull plpating erupted, the explosion carrying on further
around the hull, following some kind of fuel pipe. A series of more
explosions closely followed.
Jay turned the Phoenix around and headed back to the Blue Dwarf, the
cargo containers of alcohol swung around behind them, making the
Phoenix look like an articulated lorry.
Behind them, the Pirate ship's forward navigation lights came on, and
the engines looked to be powering up. CK watched out on a monitor
with a satisfactory smile on his face as the Pirates engines failed.
"Looks like we're home free!" Said Jay.
"Actually don't count your chickens..." Said Dean. "We have bogies
inbound!"
"Sorry," said Efof. "I couldn't find a hanky"
"No, enemy ships you 4 armed freak! The pirates had a squadren of
escort ships, they're fast- really fast, they're gaining on us."
The lead ship fired a volly of 4 mass-drivers at once. One caught a
trailing cargo container of vodka and exploded in a pink fireball.
"Noooooo not the cherry vodka!" Said Efof. He drank another VK to
calm himself down.
"Damn, those guns will really ruin my paintwork" Said Jay. "Can we
shake them somehow?"
"Another 40 minutes until the 'Dwarf, too long to call for backup."
"Can we use the wormhole drive?" asked CK.
"Of course not you stupid chav!" Said Jay. "It needs to be coupled to
the Dwarf's power grid to work, its complicated equipment."
"Actually, its possible" said Phil. "Me and McJohn used it to escape,
you just need to generate a large enough amount of power, the device
latches onto this power and creates a wormhole around it."
McJohn started gibbering again, guessing what was coming
next. "There's NO WAY i'm electrocuting myself again!"
Phil grinned. "Thats okay, it won't be enough power for all of us
anyway, that only worked because we wanted a small wormhole, the Blue
Dwarf needs a huge power source and distribution for its size so it
uses the forward ramscoops, to transport the phoenix we'll need
something big, but not that big."
"Like the explosion from a nearby ship?" suggested Jay with a glint
in his eye.
"Yes, that will do..." Said Phil.
"Ok hang on!"
Jay slammed the brakes on, causing the Phoenix to almost stop,
everyone lurched forward. The lead pirate ship passed over their
heads and Jay firmly pressed the triggor on his flightstick.
Phil turned on the Wormhole which buzzed, the enemy ship in front
exploded in a bright flash of light- generating enough power for the
wormhole drive to create a spinning wormhole in its place.
The Phoenix thrusted quickly into the vortex before it closed,
leaving the remaining Pirate fighters behind.
After a few seconds of spinning vortex space, the Phoenix emerged
directly in front of the Blue Dwarf.
As they flew closer, they could see hundreds of little faces looking
out of windows at them with alcohol in tow, cheering happily. They
landed to a heroes welcome.
