"Good. I'm a terrible shot. I just came on board to take some pictures." McJohn said, brandishing an
old-fashioned 35mm camera with various telephoto and image enhancement
attachments."Oh Christ!"

“Hey” said McJohn as Jay sent the Phoenix into a steep dive,
and with a hail of gunfire blew apart a Hymenoptera fighter.
“Do you mind not shaking us around so much, you’ll make my
photo’s go all blurry!”
Jay said nothing, just ignored Mark and rolled the ship sideways, out
of the path of a missle.
The missle arched and headed back toward the Phoenix
“Smeg…..heatseeker…” Jay murmered, as the
missle screamed back toward the ship, on a head on collision course, Jay’s
forefinger readied itself over the trigger control for the gatling guns ready
to blas it out of the sky when “OOH!” said McJohn, winding on the camera
to the next picture, “Now that’s a Kodak moment if ever I saw one!”
He leant in front of Jay and snapped a shot, the flash blinding Jay
momentarily.
“GAH!” Chrysler ‘Gah’d’ “Would you
you get outta here?!” pushing McJohn aside and rolling the shuttle aside
for a second time, luckily this time Jay was being tailed by a ‘bug ship,
the missle zoomed within an inch of the Phoenixes ventral hull and into the
engine mount of the Hym fighter, blowing it into white hot fragments of metal.
“Aw…” McJohn whined “The flash didn’t go
off, can we do that again?!”

<snip>Jay, Dean and the other pilots who weren't
currently preoccupied within a Sea of Dirac headed for the shuttles;
Lomaz was particularly surprised when her shuttle thundered out of the
shuttle bay seemingly on its own accord just as she reached its hatch,
accompanied by what sounded like a tortured scream of a panicking man,
like for example John Smith, echoed around the hangar bay.<end snip>McJohn, limping from when Seymour had kicked his
thigh while stepping over him, staggered up to the Phoenix and climbed
aboard just as Jay closed the hatch. Jay's head swung around as
McJohn appeared on the flight deck."What are you doing here?" he snapped."Need a gunner?" McJohn replied
non-chalantly."No.""Good. I'm a terrible shot. I just came on
