the reason for skeet-shooting, and the voices in my head go away
As Dr. Mulcahy makes his way through the gawking onlookers he he is stopped by
on of them:
"Ay! you!"
raising an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"You wunna them hallucinations?"
"No, if I were a hallucination I would at least have a pair of magic trousers on my head."
"oh.... the who are ya? What the hell was that thing you rode in here on?"
" I am Dr. Walter Mucahy. The "thing" that I used to get here was a chair."
"No, the ball of light, and all of that."
"A new transportation device that I was working on for the space corps, in my spare time on
earth. An object, such as a person, is placed at the end of a tube. They are charged to stay
in the form of energy for a calculated amount of time. then, at the containments fields on a
small singularity are deactivated for a split second. the gravitational forces rocket you down
the tube, by the time you get there the containment fields have reactivated, and the energy
into which you have been turned passes through the mass without disrupting anything. At that
point you are nothing but rapidly moving energy. At predetermined time, when you reach you
destination, you return to a normal state of existence, and slow to a stop."
Backing away frightened "Right.... I'll take you word for it."
As that conversation comes to an end a man on the upper level becomes angered
about a book.
"This is just some drug addict writing down his dreams. Piece of smeg!
At that he flings his copy of Alice in Wonderland out over the promenade.
When Mulcahy hears this he looks up a the man, and at lightning speed pulls out his
side-arm, and gets of a shot and has a smile a mile wide as the smoldering confetti falls to the
deck. "When will people learn, it's the root of ALL evil."
----------------------------------------------------
as Mulcahy walks along he see the usual reality, and "photo negative" hallucinations
he normal sees. A passer-by sneezes in his face, and he is suddenly hit by a wave of nausea
and fever. He sees a light blue death, followed by a large hamster. Of the corner of his eye
an image of death, in pink floats over to the light blue version and fits directly over it the
negative and the positive illusions counteract each other removing any and all hallucinations
from existence. With this frightening change he runs to the sickbay.
