After a few minutes there was a series of groans (and clacks and
buzzes and growls) as the clones began to stir. Then, almost as one,
they let out a bellow and stormed out into the corridor to wreak more
havoc.
Silence fell for a short time. Then, muffled voices were heard,
with an odd tinny quality to them.
"Stop crushing my feet!"
"If you'd crawl faster, this wouldn't be a problem!"
"If you'd actually possess some co-ordination, this wouldn't be a
problem!"
"Hey, who's got the gun here?"
There was a pause, then a brief squeaking sound. This was followed
by a loud clang as a metallic grating in Keto's office fell from the
ceiling, followed in short order by Keto, who hit the floor with a
thud. Cerebrum dropped somewhat more dexterously, landing on his
feet, before stumbling over the wreckage of Keto's desk and crashing
into a filing cabinet.
"That hurt."
"You're a hard light hologram," muttered Keto, dusting himself off
as he rose to his feet, "You can't be injured."
"That's a good point," mused Cerebrum, then smiled slowly to
himself before pointing the gun at Keto, "Give me all your money."
"WHAT?"
"I can't be hurt. Ergo, there is nothing stopping me from looting
all I like."
"Looting means from broken buildings!" snapped Keto. He glared at
Cerebrum as the psychiatrist waved an arm around, indicating the
completely trashed medibay.
"We don't have time for this," growled Keto, heading over to the
filing cabinet and pulling open the middle drawer. Then, reaching in
behind it, he pushed the top drawer IN, somehow.
A tiny compartment in the middle drawer was revealed, holding a
pair of white handguns.
"I didn't know you had those!" exclaimed Cerebrum, blinking.
"Of course not, why would you?" grinned Keto.
"Because I've had the entire medibay under closed-circuit
surveillance for the last two months," shrugged Cerebrum.
Keto ignored him, but made a mental note to fix that in the near
future. Instead he checked that the two pistols were loaded, then
tucked them into his belt.
"So. We're in the medibay. We're armed. The ship is being
invaded by an army of clones, decimating the abilities of the
crewmembers. What do we do?"
"Take over?"
"Unfortunately, we seem to think very alike," sighed Keto, as they
headed out of the medibay.
A loud buzzing came from around the corner. The two practitioners
glanced at each other.
"Don't look at me, YOU can't be injured!"
"Yes," nodded Cerebrum throughtfully, "But you have to consider the
other side of it."
"WHAT other side of it?"
"You're not me," pointed out Cerebrum, before shoving Keto forwards
and following him round the corner.
