Kat nap (continued)

(This was supposed to be the second half of the first one I wrote today, but
computer problems told a different story. That first one took place before
Katrina met up with Commander Niples. This one is after the Captain incident.)

As Katrina followed Niples, she kept shaking her head, sure she was about to
wake up. That nap she was taking in the Burger Tzar had to be the cause for
all the strange goings on in the last hour. First, she had called the
Commander a divvy.
Just get yourself fired! she screamed at herself.
Then, she'd almost had her face shot off by the Captain. Unbelieveable! She
actually had to restrain Niples from going at the Captain.
If this is real, you probably saved his life, she told herself. The Captain
would have blown his head off without a secong thought. Luckily, it was a
hallucination that got it!
Katrina had always known the Commander was the man in charge. But she was
afraid that after all this was over, he wouldn't be able to make toast. This
was getting insane and she could tell from his walk he was feeling the strain
and pressure of it.
Still, Katrina couldn't stop a smile from forming on her face. He had
actually been nice to her, one of the few people that had since she came
aboard. Then she remembered someone saying that he was nice to everyone,
(except the Captain), and didn't let it go to her head. He was a Commander.
She was a janitor. He surely wouldn't think twice about her after they parted
ways that day. She was lowly and he was the man in charge. Still, she hoped
it was all just a virus induced dream and she was still in the Burger Tzar
with her feet stuck to the floor.
