Tara flipped through the evidence again, she didn't believe that Jay
was Cerebrums son. It smelt like the sort of evil trick Xavvier would
play. Tara rubbed her eyes and looked over the files for the 17th
time.
"I can't do anything untill I talk to Jay." An idea struck
her. "Holly, are the away team still at the landing site? and where
is Amber?" She asked the senile AI
"Amber? Away team? Why should I tell you that?" Holly said.
"Because otherwise i'll let Rufus re-programme you" She said
grinning slightly. Holly seemed momentarily shocked before saying
"The Away team are still at the landing site and Amber is working
on the Aeron ship in Shuttle-Bay 6."
"Thanks Holly." Tara smiled sweetly at the AI and walked towards
the turbolifts.
Down in the shuttle-bay Amber stood up and wiped the oil off her
hands onto her clean flight suit.
"Hey mom." Amber said hugging her mother.
"Hey honey. Nice ship you have here, it's called The Demon right?
How are you doing? I havn't had much chance to speak to you since you
came back from the Aeron place. I heard about you getting your
pilot's licence back." Tara looked at her daughter and shook her head
at the oil stained clothes. Amber grimaced at the question.
"I'm fine, Cerebrum and the Appendix both said that as long as i
keep taking the pills the depression won't come back and that they
are there if I need to talk, although Cerebrum did add that it would
cost. What can i do for you?"
"I need to get down to Plebe. I need to speak to Jay about
his 'father'" Tara stressed the word father with a liitle more
sarcasm than was needed. Amber smiled.
"Flying I can do." She said "Hop in"
The Demon landed beside the slowly gathering crowd of ships and Tara
and Amber got out. They aproached the away team and grumbled as she
saw Keto.
'Smeg, now I won't be able to talk to Jay' She thought. Tara already
felt the powers that Plebe gave to humans taking effect exactly the
same as before, only it was only animals she could morph into this
time. Amber also felt the grip of the strange plebian effect. She
developed extra sensory perseption, heightened senses and was able to
read peoples auras. Also she was able to blend with the shadows,
effectivly becoming invisable.
