The Engineer of Oz

Canazza stood upright in front of the main engineering doors.
How was he going to explain his three-month absence is beyond him, he
figured it would just come to him when he was asked.
He entered, and all eyes turned to him. There were five men standing in
front of consoles, all about 5 foot tall, spectacles, most with little or no
menace about them. It looked like the munchkin scene from the Wizard of Oz.
Their stares were not of hate or of accusation but of interest and wonder.
One of the engineers approached him.
"You're that guy in the Stasis booth!" He practically was jumping for joy,
"Can I get your autograph?"
"Uh... sure, how do you know who I am?"
"We were commissioned by that Robot, Timmy, to assess your situation, in
return he would let us into his club."
"Oh, right"
"Unfortunately, Timmy didn't keep his end of the Bargain, we went to tell
Security,"
"Uh huh?"
"Security came round and erased our hard drives"
Everyone in the section sobbed at that statement, Canazza nearly let out a
sob too, engineers always feel mournful for the love of lost Data.
"But now you're free, we have evidence that can't be erased!"
"Want a bet?" Canazza gulped, remembering Timmy's threat
"We need you!" the short engineer squealed, "You have to kill Timmy!"
"I can't, he's my creation"
"You have to, go see the head of our section, He'll tell you what you have
to do?"
"How to I get to him?"
They all pointed to a door on the far side, it had a yellow stripe on it
marked will "Yellow corridor"
"Follow the Yellow Brick road"
"It's a corridor," Canazza corrected
They ignored him and burst into song
"Follow the yellow brick road, Follow the yellow brick road, follow follow
follow follow, Follow the yellow brick road"
By the time they were done, Canazza was running full pelt down the yellow
corridor, just hoping to get as far away from them as possible.
